Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

    Uh huh

Would you mind telling us what that "some way" would be?

Otherwise the devs can't really use your ideas.

Less durability, slower, fall to the ground quicker, or something. Also, there would be no fall damage or vetical direction control.

I fail to see how this would improve the game in any way, so no support from me. Thanks for the reply, though, and thanks for contributing!

I think a craftable early-game glider would be interesting.  It definitely wouldn't glide as well as the elytra, and you should have to hold it in your hands (so it would be a hang-glider), so you wouldn't be able to use rockets or punch bows or any other means of propulsion.  They should also make sure that any infinite flying tricks that elytra pros use would not work with the hang-glider.

As simple hang glider would be nice to use is Jungle biome's or in Mesa Plateau's. Construction could be from the following, String, Sticks and Leather. The distance you can glide could be dependent on how high you are compared to the ground. Maybe drop 1 block for every block flown.

MacchuPicchu96, what don't you like about this idea? It's like wooden tools, but with elytra. It's way worse than a better alternative that requires little materials. Instead of going to the end for wings, you can use some string, leather, and sticks for a petty hang glider. C'mon, buddy. Think about it.

This is a great idea. There should be far better ways of travelling though the maps that can be built

It would be cool if the downsides to it would be you couldn't use fireworks with it and it would break and I think it would be cool if the recipe was like some string wool sticks possibly some iron or gold and nuggets here or there.

Overall, I feel like Elytra was somewhat of a missed opportunity. I'd much rather have gliders that are not as powerful, accessible early on (perhaps crafted with phantom membranes or leather).

Elytra is somewhat broken; it can be easily exploited to lag servers, and. If the player gets an Elytra, all other means of transport become redundant. Gliders would be much more accessible to players, since not all people want to beat the Ender dragon and then search for End Cities through, let's be honest, boring dimension.

This new means of transport would enable the player to glide, making use of new mountain terrain, and much more vertical and spacious caves , without rocket boosting. It would be slower and not as durable; perhaps this item that could be held, and not be worn in a chest slot.

Overall, it provides the playerbase with a fun and accessible way to experience the true freedom and beauty of Minecraft without making it out of balance.
