While this is actually not a terrible idea, it won't work. Potions are supposed to be gated behind the Nether (that means you have to visit the Nether before you get potions). This would allow you to get potions without visiting the Nether at all, which is not something Mojang would want. Same goes for the witch hat: it gives flight way too early in the game, and then becomes completely useless once you get elytra.

It is not a good idea, StarKittychu. Just because something sounds cool does not make it a good idea. Please read my above comment.

@MacchuPicchu96 you can get potions by killing a witch if it is holding it, finding a potion in the cauldron of a witch hut (Bedrock Edition only) getting the brewing stand and potion of weakness in an igloo basement, or finding it in buried treasure.

Since they are neutral there could be a chance a witch hut generates in a village. And spawns in peaceful.

Also, different type of witches should be added, since, a single witch is kind of out of place. For example, rouge witches, and coven witches, and witches that are friendly that reside in a village.

I like this idea, and also like the idea of them spawning in a village, maybe as a local healer? Especially considering that lightning turns villagers into Witches, there's already a connection.

It would also be nice if Witches could count as a villager for the purposes of breeding. In my world, the only village to spawn had 2 houses and one was missing a door so only a single villager spawned. I had to build a grinder just to get a zombie villager to spawn so I could cure it - and I had to battle creepers, spiders, and blazes just to make the potion I needed (not to mention all the gold I had to find for the Golden apples!) because my world was empty. It worked, but nice witches would have made populating a village so much easier!

Good I like this idea but what about witch brooms? Can that be added?

Maybe add a seperate mob all together. Wizards? As oppose to witches. They could even have their own wizard towers or appear in some villages, fight hostile mobs including witches and trade goods.

I think it would be a good idea if this becomes true it's a good idea instead of making them neutral split witches into two mobs friendly witches and hostile witches.

If I wrote wrong it's because I live (and talks) Swedish/Sweden

would also be neat to form a coven with the witch so it helps you with battle or helps you craft potions :) If you could trade, they should be able to trade specific items you can use for a witchy purpose. Special interactions maybe? There's so much you could possibly do with the witches!!

I really like the idea of giving them more character and expanding the witch category. I don't know how I feel about giving them different drops. But I think it would be really nice to introduce friendly witches and hostile witches, as the idea of covens could be really cool to see in the game, where perhaps brewing could become a bigger element in the game and explained a little more? The standard witch hut doesn't need any tampering with imo, but it could be exciting to see little witch communties (of either hostile or neutral witches) that would be parallel to regular villages, but more fantastical, maybe in more quirky places like at the tops of cliffs, floating islands, underwater, in mushroom biomes, farlands, or maybe even in the nether? Perhaps interacting with witches could open a trading interface for brewing ingredients, enchanting books, and maybe it could be a trading system that doesn't revolve around emeralds, the way bartering with piglins has become an alternative system. Maybe placing something in a witch's chest would be swapped out for something completely random?

Connecting witches a little more to villagers sounds like a good idea to me, at least the story about them. Illagers and villagers go hand in hand, but witches feel like an odd, kind of neglected third wheel that could use a little more fleshing out? Maybe I rambled a little bit here, but I would just love to see witches get some more love and become a bigger thing in game!
