Zinc would be a new ore that would frequently generate, but its veins would be small in size. This ore drops several chunks, much like Lapis Lazuli or Redstone.
Zinc can be combined with Iron or Copper in a Fusion Forge to create Galvanized Steel or Brass, respectively. Much like Copper in the post I made, Iron would also be only half as effective against water-related materials and mobs, but the oxidation overlay would be orange rather than green.
Iron Blocks oxidize in water, which would be useful for players that want to build rusted structures. Much like in the Copper suggestion, the rust could be removed by right-clicking the block with Steel Wool.
Galvanized Steel blocks and items would look identical to those made of normal iron, however it does not oxidize or take any negative hits from water, as the Zinc provides a protective layer. For the convenience of players with existing Iron Blocks, the blocks would be replaced with Galvanized Steel so that aquatic-iron builds aren’t ruined.
