I agree with some other reviewers that this may scare young players. Perhaps if the creepiness of the idea were toned down, it would be more kid-friendly.

So what would happen if you were punching down a tree on your first day, and was attacked by a lost. That would be annoying....

    Might scare kids...

I think that sounds are a little too dark for Minecraft. But an overall great idea.

Good idea, but maybe no creepy noises? I will vote if no creepy crying

wow this is a very interesting idea, and would be cool/creepy. But tbh this seems like something that would be a mod and not a actual feature. I will vote for it anyway though!

i really like the idea of ghost mobs, and with some other peoples suggestions of swamp/ biome fog it would add a nice atmosphere.

The way you describe how they sound like makes nights in these places even more terrifying.

I like the idea, but not your way of going about it. Imagine being a little kid, first starting up Minecraft. You wander into a swamp and next thing you know, you're screaming and crying while being chased down by a wailing ghost lady.

@mercy langley if you can handle zombies skeletons and the nether which is the minecraft underworld you can handle ghosts. Or I hope you can for my sanity.

I was thinking about something like this the other day. Like a female witch mob that screams in the forest.

I would love to see this in the game

    I absolutely love this idea!

Perhaps these mobs could look differently in the daytime and the night time? I would love to see a lost transform from a subtle daytime look, to a full on horrifying night time look. This could be nice.

Anyway great idea, hope that this gets added into the game.

yeah but they should have a lower spawn rate near spawn as players wouldn't be ready yet

The maps should either lead to ruins/abandoned villages, lead to nothing (they wouldn't have gotten lost if they had a working map), or lead to desert and jungle temples, which are difficult to find without one. We already have a good source of buried treasure maps, and having them drop a mansion or monument map would make cartographers useless.

The lost should be another type of The Vex which spawns ONLY in Dark Forests. Unlike vexes, There should be a trap (kinda like skeleton trap) just called "Lost Trap" which spawns these mobs. The way the trap is, You'll see one Lost spawning somewhere in your vicinity, It would be crying. suddenly, when you approach it, There should be a subtle scream and there would spawn five of them, You will need to kill them all of them to get a reward that I can't really think of rn.

I like it. It might be a little scary for !title kids so maybe change it a little but I think it is great!

I think it could be a neutral mob, that way, it acts more like a dead/forgotten player than a zombie or skeleton. Perhaps it could be impossible to hit unless hit with a spectral arrow, and become aggressive if you try to hit it. it would not outright kill you though, because, deep down, it is still a player. If you give it dragon breath, ghast tears, or some other post-game/late game item, it will lead you to its treasure then disappear, like its final question or lingering regrets were resolved or something.

I like the idea of a crying sound, like it regrets something, or has been forgotten.

If you look into the lore of the game, it can be kind of dark that way...

Another thing you could add onto this is that if you get killed by one another one is spawned where you died, but that one won't attack you because you seem familiar

This is a good Halloween themed update for sure,

This should only happen on a full moon to make it rare like the skeleton traps,

I would like to see this as a random event that can happen in swamps bcus Minecraft does lack of that kind of events

when the player looks at them they should hide outside of the players view
