When you are making your redstone suggestions, please note that Java and Bedrock will not have the exact same the same redstone systems - this would require redoing redstone system completely on one platform or the other. The two systems are functionally different and are going to stay that way. Please be sure to tag your suggestions with (Java) or (Bedrock).

Compressed blocks...

A friend made an april fools video with this but hear me out.

Compressed Blocks. you could make such cool stuff with this redstone mechanic. If you point two pistons at each other at a maximum of fourteen blocks across and you fill the space between them with any kind of movable block, leaving a block for the pistons to extend, if you extend both pistons at the same time, the blocks in the middle become a solid color and become unbreakable and immovable. as soon as the current to the pistons is cut, the pistons come back and the blocks revert to their normal form.

One thing that would stop this from going into minecraft - the textures shown in the video are already taken up by concrete, as of 1.12.2. Also, some blocks would most likely have the same solid color. Maybe just add a block compressor workbench, that makes hard-to-break blocks? I just kinda feel like the piston setup shown is a bit too large to be useful. But otherwise, great idea!
