Everyone wanted their own image in a small space, but currently this is only achievable with maps and plenty of blocks. Paintings will provide players with custom decoration.
Paintings must be made with:
- a brush
- a canvas
- paint
- an easel
The easel must be crafted like an armor stand, but replacing the stone slab with a stick. It is two blocks high, one block wide and one block thick, it should be an entity and therefor affected by gravity.
The availability of crafting pre-made paintings should be disabled, and they should only be found in generated structures (example: woodland mansion, village etc). The crafting recipe now creates a canvas, not a painting.
A brush is made like a shovel, except the iron, wood etc. is replaced with wool.
Paint bottles are made by crafting a bottle of water with the preferred dye (example: rose red makes red paint), they each have a durability of 4096, one use for each pixel painted, this feature will be explained later on.
Once an easel is placed down, a player should use it to create paintings. The player is shown a GUI that requires input of the dimensions of the canvas. The canvas result must be a quadrilateral and each block it should occupy will require one canvas, the limit on canvases in one painting is 16.
Once the player confirms the canvas size, another GUI will appear, this time creating the actual painting. Each canvas used will provide the player with a 16 by 16 area to paint in, having the limit of pixels painted be 4096. Colours can be mixed, having the maximum colour mixing be 6. A canvas can be left unfinished at any time.
Once a player finishes painting, they must confirm their work and sign it. Then, the canvases are consumed and the player will have an enchanted painting, just like a written book, cutom name and a suffix displaying the creator's name.
