Mayor Villager (Edit: a BLUE Villager)

A new mob called the "Mayor"

He rules the village and it give's really RARE items, like you give him a Block of emerald he will give you a Block of diamond

insparation for how the Mayor looks

And he will unlock new trades if you make more house's (like how you get Baby villagers and iron golems)

And Illager's target him more (if he dies iron golems are disabled to spawn)

    It could be a generated villager, or it could be a normal villager that gets promoted once you have a villager of every trade, or a certain population cap.
    More expensive rare drops, maybe a map to the nearest ender portal? Or coordinates to a skulk city, mine shaft?
    Perhaps instead of trading emeralds they give an order to fill before getting a reward? *bring them a certain horse, slay phantoms, protect them from so many raids, give them nether or end items.*

    The leader could also sometimes walk around the village and oversee their peoples work and gather all their people around the town square for a speech, especially after a zombie seige, raid, or death of a villager.

    A mayor villager could also open up new potential for villager's reputation system; perhaps the mayor can provide you with your reputation via a new interface, and you may increase lost reputation by paying emeralds as "fines". If quests are added, however, I think it would be best to have all villagers assign them to you.

    Also, shouldn't it be more realistic to call the mayor villager a 'reeve' or 'bailiff'? These are historical and feudal terms, of course, but I find the the term 'mayor' to be slightly bit modern.
