Definitely need a quiver so you can carry various tipped arrows and easily switch between them for different tasks. I always shoot myself with arrows of swiftness

But what if you are In a battle and you have no room for arrows and I think you should be able to carry your bow with out it in your inventory

Maybe, since the crossbow was implemented, you could also store fireworks, and you could prioritize projectiles by having them in your inventory, and it would act as "infinity", but it would just replenish the arrow in the inventory with one of the arrows in its inventory

The quiver like that I think is not a good idea.
But it would be nice if it is used as the elytra, in place of the breastplate, and allows you to easily change the type of arrow. The quiver is advantageous for players at a distance, and is balanced with less armor. It is easy to change the type of arrow if you are using the numbers of the keyboard (not the function keys). To be really good at PvP and Survival / hardcore, the quiver would allow a maximum of three (3) types of arrows, accessing it in the player's inventory (by pressing the "e" key).
Using the quiver also displays in a item bar what type of arrows you have and what will fire.

I would reduce the storage size a bit.

It's a bag made of leather. It has nine slots like the Dispenser, and it's also random.

When you put nine different arrows in the Arrow bag, you will only get one of them randomly, and you can only use it when holding it in the off-hand

    Too much negativity.

Need a armour slot for the quiver on avatar's back. Need to equip quiver (free up inventory space).

This would give yourself more space for other items

Weapons could be equiped this way as well.

I like the idea, so i'll try to add my sand's grain.

First, this would be perfect if a backpack slot is added if not working like the elytra isnt a good feature that i would want to see with this item.

The quiver can act as a arrow modifier in wich way if you add a compartment where you can save thing like poison, explosive liquid, flammable liquid, cold liquid etc... then if you put the arrow on one of the 5 slots depending on which liquid it can apply a secondary effect.

Like arrow + poison = poisoned arrow, now what will happen with the tipped arrow they may stay here and can be merged with the liquids of the quiver making the arrow a very powerful weapon so to balance this thats why the low stack.

As a real life archer, quivers usually hold up to 25 arrows. So a chests worth of storage is way to overpowered. But maybe 3 slots that can hold 8 arrows each so you can have different types.

Space too large, but good idea!

Those images are too op, and desbalance the entire game now. But I have the solution, They would have less slots, but without being few, and it would be used on the chestplate slot, instead of having it on the off-hand or on a different space.

In addition, You need modern textures that would fit the new style of Minecraft, so there are some examples for them:

It would be extremely useful if, unlike shulker boxes, you could fire arrows directly out of the quiver (which could be a chest plate armor piece [wear the quiver on your back] a leggings armor piece [wearing the quiver at your side] or an off-hand item) It would also go with (or work as) a sheath (worn by the same method) in which you can store one to three weapons (they would render in separate sheathes) and draw one by attacking. This would add something really cool and useful in Minecraft.

Quiver is pointless, offhand exists, I think it would be ok if it had 1-3 slots, not 27, because who uses more than a stack of arrows in one journey anyway

I really like mad3nder mad3nder's idea. Nothing wrong with original post, but mad3nder mad3nder gets more in depth. The idea of having in the chestplat slot was the first thing I thought of while reading this post and I certainly think it should only work when there. In addition, I don't think that the quiver should have the amount of space as a chest. FjallexBoi said that it should have 3 slots with 8 arrows each. I agree 3 slots sounds good but though it's not a realistic, I think each slot should fit 16. Also, I like the skin for the quiver shown in raity41's post. Possible it could look empty (not show arrows in the quiver) when no arrows are equipt (like shown in Joaqui's post. This really would be a good addition to Minecraft!

What I imagine for a quiver be is a storage item specifically for arrows. Without a quiver, it uses the arrows in your inventory. However, here's how I put it. The quiver allows you to organize which types of arrows are used up first depending on the queue. So the first one in the slot is used before the next. This makes the Infinity enchantment a whole lot more worthwhile since it's only able to use a single regular arrow. You can just place 1 type of arrow in each slot in the quiver and it just cycles through the slots.
