Cool idea, I really like beavers. They’re cool, and with the Wild Update being announced, this feels like a great addition. Also, I think having wood-type variations for each forest biome it spawns in would be neat.

WHO EVER SAID THIS I'M INFINIT% OUT OF 1000% IN WITH YOU ON THE WOOD TYPE YOU HERE THIS MOJANG DO YOU!!! JUST PUT IT ANNOUNCED ALREADY!!!!!!!!!

Maybe seeing it in the mangrove swamps! There might be rivers and the new dam structure we have a lot of chances seeing it in 1.19! And This post is under review I cant wait to see beavers in Minecraft I hope they can carry sticks in their mouth just like our good friend the fox

I think beavers being able to be tamed is a great idea. We barely have any mobs that can be tamed and the ones we can are... lackluster

good idea, the beavers would be cool, but it would be better if they appeared in the rivers

The beaver, it being neutral, the dam and lodge, the stick block, I came up with the exact same thing! Not saying you stole my idea. Differences: no beaver skin armor, a muddy stick block, the stick block breaking as you step on it, no "Beaver's Grace", no loot chests, and no taming beavers.

I imagine that the stick block will drop 3-7 sticks when broken without Silk Touch.

I also imagine that the beaver would attack by turning around and smacking you with its tail.

I like the idea of Beaver Hide, but not the armor. The armor seems to be too mod-like and OP for vanilla MC.

The Stick block would break as you step on it, and it would drop sticks when broken.

The Muddy Stick Block would be crafted by surrounding the upcoming mud block with sticks. Originally, this would have been crafted with a dirt block, but then the Mud Block was announced. This would not break when you step on it, but it would still drop sticks when broken without Silk Touch.

"Beaver's Grace" to me also seems too mod-like and OP for vanilla MC.

The loot chests don't make sense.

Beavers are herbivores IRL, so they should only be bred using sticks.

Last, the beaver should not be tamed. Nobody has a pet beaver.

I really like this idea. But I think there should be some
Variations in the stick blocks so the dams don’t look to blocky

I don’t think the beaver skin armor should be as good as iron I think it should be kinda like leather

I agree with the initial thought of beavers, and
Their dams. But there are things in this post that are not agreeable that’s why I hope Mojang takes this post into consideration. And does add the beavers and a lot of the things in this post but that they also cap a lot of the absurdity of it.

If your the developers reading this…. Hi thanks so much for all that you’ve done for the game and the community

I kind of love this idea.

It would also be better if they spawned on taiga biomes and some of its variants. I also think the beaver armor is too OP and that you shouldn't be able to tame beavers, aside from that, great idea.

And beavers also eat beetroots, that will give a use to that thing.

Even if they're rare, the beaver armor sounds insanely op. Turtle helmets can be really hard to find and they only provide a little defense and 10 seconds of water breathing.

Cool. Also instead of stick blocks you could use mangrove roots.

Also the new blocks like mangrove roots and mud can be part of their home. In real life beavers us mud as glue to secure the logs and make their homes air tight.

Beavers would be great not only as a funny unexpected mob (which is kinda minecraft's thing) but because they could interact with trees in the game in sooo many different ways. They could spawn near rivers, destroy trees and change landscape, they are a perfect organic way for a player to build some kind of wood farm, using beavers instead of some tnt-duping and some advanced redstonning only for a couple of highly gifted minds. Beavers also have a quite unique shape and would be very recognizable in a block game. Now that I think of it, I wonder how come they are still not added to this day. Beavers are perfect, they are ten times better than some foxes, bears or goats all of which feel kinda generic.

They really should add beavers together with the river update. Beavers are great at creating differenet ecosystems on their own by building dams. It would be a great mob to showcase the new mechanics of river streams where the beavers dam can stop the stream and the make the other side of the river go dry or lover its density. Also beavers could chop down trees to construct the said dam and there for show another prove of their ability to change ecosystem and make the world more alive. There could be multiple levels to beaver dams based on how much wood they can their hands on. Real beaver dams in the wild can range from small to absolutely massive. Something i really like is when mobs can construct stuff themself if I proved for them and I think beavers could satisfy that ich.I just really love beavers and I really hope they will come around to add them in some shape or form.

I think you should craft the stick block with only 4 sticks (if you can craft it at all), meaning that 1 log gives 2 stick blocks. Also maybe call them log piles. Instead of taming beavers for a woodcutting boost, how about you can find some rubble inside their dam, which you brush to find treasure, and sometimes you might find the lumber enchantment in there, which could make you mine naturally generated logs faster, or even cut down a whole tree at once. (Incidentally, that is actually one of the most popular threads in Blocks, Items and Tools. Maybe we could tie the two threads together?)

Yeah, so I really like the idea of adding beavers to the game, but I agree with some of the things other commentors have pointed out (ex.  the dam should spawn in rivers or swamps, not oceans) and I really think the dam should be made up of lots of different wood blocks and it shouldn't spawn with chests, but yeah, cool idea, we generally need more wild animals in minecraft. Also, just a little idea I had was that you could craft some sort of weapon using the beaver's teeth or tail, but I'm not sure.
