Fog could also deaden sound and make it harder to hear mobs.

I feel as though a fog effect that's thick on the ground but lighter above it could be extremely fitting

I'd prefer if this were more of a weather event.

Since fog affects visibility, it should also affect the distance at which mobs will react to you, allowing you to sneak up on them and lose them more easily when they chase you. I would also severely reduce the range at which Skeletons or Pillagers would be able to shoot at you.

If they add this, it should be not only in Swamps but also in the Ocean Biome and any biome near the Ocean.

Only close to the ground, so you can look down on it

Maybe the fog would be disappeared if there is sunny or full moon?

I definitely think swamps should have fog, but every biome should have fog every-once in a while so that it can make players be more careful and make scenarios like raids more intense

This would make a good global weather effect much like rain. It's only visible in or nearby certain humid biomes (rivers, oceans, swamps, jungles). For those who don't like rain and won't like this, the set weather command would be available.

I think that the primary gameplay purpose of fog (other than the cool aesthetic it provides and the visibility challenge for players) would be changes to hostile mobs. Phantoms could have different behavioral patterns in the fog and even spawn differently, such as spawning in the daytime or even when the player has slept recently. Endermen might not be hurt in the fog, but they could experience a weakening effect and have increased teleportation rates. Illager patrol spawn rates could be increased and have a chance of including witches on spawning. Witch spawn rates would be increased and have some added benefits, such as magical armor or faster regeneration. If fogs became particularly dangerous, ghasts could spawn near nether portals in the overworld and would disappear when the fog lifted.

Theoretically, if witches and fog had a certain affinity, witch phases of raids could have a small chance of summoning the fog weather effect.

Fogs would be terrifying (although the effects could be mitigated on easier difficulties) and add additional challenge to overworld encounters for experienced players.

Nearby conduits would increase fog visibility.

I think you should have the ability to turn this off in the world settings, because some players might not want this, or maybe just not in some worlds. (I like the idea)

That would make the swamp biome more recognizable to new players. I like this idea, however I would like some more details on what The particle effects Look like if there are any.

This is a great idea but I think it would be best in a fog cycle after rain, not all the time

I would also like to see that in other biomes, like the jungle, plains, or any for that matter. Just that it would be best if it happened at somewhat random times, like rain or snow. It might occur more in Jungle or Swamp biomes, though it can happen in others. And I happen to like what 'MogrimTheDark' had said, where each biome could have its own unique weather.

The first time I played Minecraft it was version 1.3, and the limited rendering distance ironically made the game much more immersive and mysterious. So yeah. I support this.

Good idea, but fog should only occur occasionally, just as rain does.

Fog should happen is swamps and jungles after it rains and everywhere after a thunderstorm. Also blocks that are outside should drip water while its foggy

Maybe not just swamps. Forests and taigas would be cool too.

Minecraft Developers: PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS!. While it may be a somewhat nice detail for people with powerful computers, it will cause the swamps to be a bad experience for people with lower end devices. And for what? Something that is purely cosmetic? This seems like a bad move, especially since this can be done with shaders, and official shaders support was just added.

Seeing them jump between lily pads would be awesome along with a lotus like water lily, water lilies are the plant that grows the lily pads (leaves) and the lotus is the the flower. It would fit the environment nicely.
