I don't support the addition of teacher villagers. A good villager has several things that they can buy and sell, so a villager that only sells you books would be kind of useless and a misfit.

However, the ability to somehow teach the player, in-game, about biomes, dimensions, mobs, history, etc. is a fairly good idea. Perhaps instead you could get these books as a prize for unlocking certain advancements? For example, getting the obsidian advancement could unlock a book describing how to access the Nether and what there is to find there (Nether Fortresses).

This is a very good concept! We definitely need an in-game guide to read. To get the book the player should only need to trade some paper for it. No emeralds required. This would make it easier for new players to obtain!

I really like this idea. It could help new players become acclimated to the game in a much more enjoyable way than browsing through the Wiki.  Many people don't have the patience to look up everything on Wiki in order to learn the intricacies of this awesome game. Please add this feature!

I think this is a great idea. However, I don't agree with this villager selling history books as it takes the fun of observing things to come up with lore away.

perhaps instead of adding a new job just have the librarians teach the villagers, maybe tell stories or something

I see why you think this would be a good idea, but I strongly disagree with it. I didn't really have anyone to teach me how to play Minecraft when I was younger, and had to pick up on all the game's mechanics from personal experience or watching my older brother play it. The game just doesn't work without the players improving through trial and error.
