Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Working like it does for axes when you strip a log, it would be awesome.

Maybe not with the pickaxe, maybe with a new tool made of copper or something

    I really like this idea.

Adding to this, those cracked blocks should also have the function of disintegrating when something heavy (a mob or anvil) falls on them or moves over their top surface, as well as the player elytra crashing into their side. This would make for excellent and intuitive pitfalls.

And with that pitfall mechanic in mind, cracked glass based blocks, pried wooden planks based blocks and loose leave blocks would be created and behave the same way, allowing for more variety in pitfall materials and creating ruined looking structures.
