I think the API needs to be improved for data packs but this isn't the solution.

We absolutely need this, It will be very useful for Realm owners because "infinite" Map without limit can be problematic and make Maps too big even if it's not useful (for Realm and small servers) : Map storage size too important (several Gb)...

    My ideas for commands:

    /worldborder add (length) (time)

    /worldborder set (length) (time)

    /worldborder remove (length) (time)

    /worldborder damage (amount)

    /worldborder center (x y z)

(maybe a command to change border colors(cause why not))

I would find this useful as a way to limit world generation. For example, when bees are added there won't be any hives nearby so it will lead to travelling huge distances to see new world generation.

This would be amazing. Not only for map creators but for regular players aswell. All the people who want legacy edition world sizes to be added to bedrock could just use a command to change how far they can go in their worlds.

This would be useful as I have an idea for a game called speed demon where maybe 4 or 5 people get a 10-minute head start into a world and gather resources and whatever and then the speed demon who is equipped with speed 100-1000 who has maxed out leather armor and a diamond sword chases them and the last survivor wins.

This is needed in so many ways, but I’m going to focus on realms. Why it’s needed and what features we should have.

    To start

World Border should not be a cheat. As it does not give the player an advantage. This allows realms to be full survival while limiting how far a player can go.

World Border should be able to be toggled in game by admin. This allows it to be changed if admin chooses to without having to create a new world. (UI would have a number input. For example 500. Meaning world border is 500 blocks from 0,0,0 or world spawn)

Large worlds have the chance to corrupt as file size increases. Limiting the distance a player can go will greatly reduce the ability of  worlds becoming too large.

Currently the survival of a realm is based off of file size being able to be edited. Worlds periodically have to be pruned, but software has its limitations. If the file size is to large, a lot of programs will not be able to load the world or have the chance of corruption during save process.

Editing is not limited to file size, as you can create a new world and TP to far distances while keeping save file small. Editing software will not be able to load.

Map image software: World explored to far will crash software while creating a PNG image.

On my realm (Economy Realm) we periodically prune the world to 5000 allowing file size to stay manageable. But as a realms owner, this is rule that I cannot enforce. World Border would make this possible.

I can see the need for two types of world limits on Realms and Servers since things get worse as the world gets larger.

First is the Saved World Limit which would allow resource gathering beyond this point, but the chunks get reset under certain conditions such as a server restart. Also, chunks outside this limit are not included in the backup and save files.

Second is the Absolute World Limit which is the maximum range in which the player can explore the world. Forcing your way outside this limit is as dangerous as the void itself.

Both of these working together should help with the file sizes as well as helping with resources that require a somewhat rare biome such as red sand from the badlands.

Mini-Games and Adventure maps would benefit from not having to worry about players finding their way into unintended parts of the world, too.

Minecraft bedrock truly needs the world border like in Java not just in commands, but in any normal world once in about 30 million blocks in each direction, because technically most players will never get there, but for those who have survival worlds for literally years and years, some may eventually get to that point and forget that going past that can get you to fall through the blocks into the void and die, which would be devastating and some people may accidentally take that plunge. It would truly make bedrock edition worlds much safer, and more of a guarantee that nothing crazy like that can happen in survival. This would also make the performance better on Bedrock. And for those who do want to access it, make it the same on Java to use commands to move it and you could also add a gamerule on the cheats section to toggle off the effect of the world border. This would truly improve the bedrock edition.

Guys, those commands are for Java. It still needs to be added to Bedrock. That's why the name literally suggests "Java Parody"

The border block exists on bedrock to get it its

    /give @p border

While you would have to manually place it or use a fill command it is still possibe

When you want to have people only be able to go so far it would stop them that's why it is needed on bedrock

It's not fair that a world that promises to be infinite starts glitching movement after 100k blocks and starts having ghost blocks after a few million blocks...

When trying to constrain people to certain world size on Bedrock servers so the world sizes down grow too large. This can be useful

Deberían agregar está función, ya que muchos Jugadores y/o creadores de mapas tendrían la posibilidad de jugar con esa opción dandole un toque mejor a algún minijuego

a postioning command, im not sure if you can do this in the game but what i mean by this is a command that can allow you to place the world border in an specific part of a block (minecraft block's textures have 16 pixels so with this command you would be able to place the border in one of the pixels so the border isn't positioned in the middle or in a random part of the block) even though this isn't that usefull the command for this could be "/minecraft:worldborder (coords) {positioning:0-16}" (the number at the end is the part of the block were you want the border to be in)

Command for moving the center of the barrier to new coordinates for a certain time:
    /worldborder move (x, y) (length) (time)

The command to change the color from one to another for a certain time:
    /worldborder color (color) (time)
