Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Slingshot

I think we should add slingshots it would really help in survival we would also need stones so we could shoot them out of the slingshots

    Maybe with the stones, you could be able to put cobblestone in your crafting table and turn them into the item "rock," which will then be used as ammunition for slingshots.

     

    Also, regarding crafting recipes, maybe the slingshot could have the same recipe as a shield, but replace the wood with sticks and the iron with string.

    Crafted with three sticks and three leather.

    • Flint: Does damage

    • Snowball

    • Splash Potion

    • Egg

    • Ender Pearl

    • Fire Charge: Sets fire upon impact

    • Ink Sac: Blinds target's vision with a cloud of black particles

    • Slimeball: Slows the target's movement speed by a very low percentage

    • Wither Skeleton Skull: Explodes into a Wither effect lingering cloud

    Any of these items can be held in the off-hand while holding right-click with the Slingshot to launch the items as projectiles. Nether Fortresses' loot chests can have a very rare enchanted book called Wither Aspect which needs to be applied to the Slingshot in order for it to launch Wither Skulls. There could also be a Ghast-related enchantment that could allow Fire Charges launched by Slingshots to explode on impact.

    Slingshots could shoot seeds making the seeds more valuable rather than useless after a certain point.

    I've always liked the idea of a slingshot, just a simple, early projectile weapon with very low damage that just took a stick and some string, and you could break cobblestone or gravel into ammo for it, so it would be much easier to acquire than arrows. It would also have a bit shorter range and less accuracy, but presumably a faster draw speed.

    Yeah it could be crafted using four sticks in a Y shape and one string, and could be used to shoot small pebbles or something

    Love the idea of what projectiles to use and their effects. In addition, I think iron and gold nuggets would be a good idea. They would do slightly more damage than other projectiles.
    One suggestion for the crafting recipe would be string-leather-string across the top, stick-empty-stick across the middle, and empty-stick-empty across the bottom

    I really love this idea. It would help beginer's fight off tougher mob's at a distance like forsay creeper's. It would fire cobblestone and would require one stick and one string.

    Maybe you can also use Diorite, Granite, and Andesite to make slingshot ammo and depending on the stone, it will grant a different effect. For example, if you use granite, when shot if it hits the enemy the rock will cluster allowing you to hit more enemies (Since granite is made of multiple rocks) but the cluster won't be 100% accurate so some of the cluster rocks might not hit their shots.

    Slingshots In Minecraft could be good

    It could be like the bow but easier to make and longer lasting than a bow and it could shoot rocks made from cobblestone
    It could be a good new weapon for Minecraft

    What if you could make them out of bamboo for stronger durability and sticks for weaker durability and you can throw a potions farther with them
