Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

What mechanism do you propose for doing this? Also, as an aside, I doubt this will be added. I read that since losing experience is often the only real penalty for dying in survival Minecraft, the devs don't want to add ways to store it

I would state that this is essentially helpful on the new versions of the game on the Bedrock Edition and others. With the bug that is occurring in the game as of just before v1.8.0 you would save the game safely and exit the game. Upon re-entering the game it would load you in at y: 200 above your original spwan point and essentially kill you. a way to store experience is helpful for this glitch in the game as well as some other discussed upon topics as leveling up bookshelves and enchanting tables with the 'Bottle O' Enchanting".

I know that there is a lot that would need to be done to make this happen but i would say the use of an anvil and (experience) item would be the idea and it would cost, lets say : 2 experience levels for a bottle of 10 experience levels. (so the total experience used from the experience bar would be 12 experience levels), and it would cost 4 experience for a bottle of 20 experience levels. (so the total experience used from the experience bar would be 24 experience levels.) and so on.

The issue I see is the same as mentioned prior, "that experience loss is truly the only bad thing that happens when a player dies."  I would like the idea of thinking smart about your experience and always being cautious but I do believe just like any other block in the game there should be some way to obtain it? We are not always in control of what happens in the game and that is why there is a bug report options and feedback options.  My friends and I have personally lost over 100 levels of experience due to this bug (MCPE-38374). It would be nice to know that there is another way to save experience earned from countless hours of killing mobs, breeding animals, mining, and smelting/cooking items.

I agree, playing the bedrock edition myself too but I think it should be a mid to endgame feature so we won’t just go storing every little bit of so in bottles. Also maybe instead of storing levels, it stores a certain amount of xp orbs because every level takes more xp and what would happen if people collect for example 12 xp levels and store 10 levels then when they are at level 50 they use that bottle and become level 60. But that’s just my thoughts so feel free to oppose me. Nice idea anyways!

I was thinking you would enchant a bottle in an enchantment table

I think that they should add this, however I think they should implement a way for you to do it after killing the ender dragon. For example, say the dragon were to drop an item that let you put your experience in a level or in the end city you can find a plant that you can grow in the overworld.

While you can't really store the exp you have already gained you could make an xp farm in the shape of furnaces and just get that, rather than having loads of bottles of enchanting laying around..

I say it should work like a syphon system; you can only make bottles of enchantment from the exp you have already and keep it stored away if you decide to do some risky business that would lose all of it.

I think a new item and crafting recipe should be added for this. It could be called the essence siphon. With dragon's breath in a bottle the bottle will need to be "primed" for the experience. You do this by putting the bottle of dragons breath in a potion stand and put gunpowder in the input. This will give you throwable dragon's breath (possibly usable as a weapon? If not it might produce a cool particle effect.) And then all you need to do is put the essence siphon in a crafting table with the bottle of throwable dragon's breath to get a Bottle of Enchanting. The Essence Siphon would take 1 durability of it's 32, the bottle of throwable dragon's breath would be used, and the bottle of enchanting would contain one level. The siphon could be made of really anything but I am thinking of maybe a mix of phantom membranes, a stick or 2, a shulker shell or chorus fruit or something else. It just needs to include something you can only get after beating the ender dragon to make sure it's not too op.

You could have to brew a potion and drink it to activate the xp bottling.

Rather by right clicking on dropped XP, the same way you scoop up the ender dragon's breath attack.

The ability to store experience levels is an excellent idea and something I've greatly enjoyed while playing with mods, plugins, and now datapacks.  Having a way to bank and even trade experience would make it a much more useful and valuable resource.

I hate the randomness of the Enchanting Table. It is a lovely but effectively useless workstation to me.  I really only make it as a decoration for my base and then forget about it. (I really want to use it for more than decoration but I loathe the current mechanics of it.)

Maybe bottles could be used in the Enchanting Table.  Filling bottles would cost Lappis just like enchanting, and the number of levels stored in the bottle could use the vanilla mechanics of levels consumed for an enchantment; variable based on the number of bookshelves in range and a choice of three "enchantment" options consuming different amounts of levels, except the equivalent amount of experience would be stored in a bottle.

To balance out the risk factor, maybe the process of bottling experience wouldn't be entirely lossless. Perhaps it would cost a small percentage of the experience stored.

I'd love to see this added to the enchanting system.

Edit: Additional thought, since potions will be stackable after the upcoming combat  revisions, maybe the input would be Awkward Potions (and Lappis) instead of empty bottles and the output would be a new Experience Potion!  The more I think about this the more I want it in the game! ^_^

Maybe you can just make them easier to get so players don't have to work so hard for exp always cause it takes so long and when you die increase the number of exp given back

Maybe just enchanting an empty bottle?

Perhaps you could use an anvil to combine an empty bottle (or Dragon's Breath?) with Curse of Binding. Not only would this require late game resources, but also a reason to seek out the curse. To balance it further, it might only siphon newly gained experience until it had enough to become a Bottle o enchanting.

Here's an idea: experience orbs that fall into a cauldron "dissolve" into the cauldron and look like a shiny green liquid in it. This won't prevent the cauldron from being filled with lava, water or powdered snow (so it won't break farms), but if one were to right click on the cauldron, the experience is released. If one right clicks with a bottle, a Bottle o' Enchanting is created.

This would be really interesting, as experience farms would likely need to deal with shunting around full and empty experience cauldrons, and finally adds self made Bottle o' Enchanting

THIS NEEDS to be added. even if it stores a small number of orbs. it would be so beneficial if you had a lot of experience and wanted to have fun with your friends without the risk of dying and losing all of your xp.
