Goats in the hills and mountain biome! Obtain goat milk! This could add to farming diversity! You can have one person raise cows, you can have your horse farm and with goats the pigs and sheeps would be complete! Goat milk could add a new recipe and again a new shop item for a Cafe!
This is a great idea!
In hills and like lamas.
They could spawn in the normal passive mob locations, as well as mountains. They would be neutral mobs and could be milked. They should drop horns.
I know many people think goats should spawn in the plains, but I suggest they spawn in the mountains and in villages only.
Spawn mountains
Drop horns and fur
Make goat helmet
With 5 fur and 2 horns
Equal defense to Chain helm and small speed boost
1x2x1
Breed with wheat
Rideable with saddle. Little slower than horse but you can put a chest on them for portable storagePlease add more info
I would LOVE to have goats because i raise goats in real life
Some added info
Biome Spawn: Mountains, Extreme Hills
Drops: Leather, and the occasional Goat horn ( which can be made ( with leather ) into a boomerang, which when shot into trees, 1/5 brings an apple back.
They are neutral, when provoked, the run and slam their horns into you, causing 2 and half hearts of damage
This comment section is amazing and I want Jeb to yell at me.
I think it’s a good idea to add goats because first they are one of the cutest animals ever and since pigs, cows, horses, and chickens, are farm animals so are goats so I think they should go with the farm animals

They should spawn in mountains, They should give milk, meat, and wool. However, they should have a chance to randomly headbutt you if you get near. Its similar to how llamas sometimes spit on you.
Goats will produce wool, meat and milk.
They will live in mountain bioms, taiga and desert
They will replace cows, pigs and sheeps (those should not spawn there). It is unnatural to see pigs, cows and chicken everywhere except ocean. Pigs and cows spawn should be restricted to plains and forest. They can not live in all bioms. There must be some bioms where pigs and cows are not exist. So goats will take their place.
You can have all from one animal (goat), but for balance each one ingredient must be worse than frome other animal (sorry for bad English)
Wool texture could be different, animal dye for breeding is not possible, meat shall be less nutrient, etc
You can dye goat wool but you can not dye goat itself unlike sheep. Goats can be white, black and grey.
P.S. Goat should eat cabbage :)
They should spawn in extreme hills biome
Well adding goats in the game would be a good idea. different biomes can have different types of goats like snow goat, desert goat etc. spawning of goats is as normal as other mobs such as cows and pigs. The goat gives leather/wool milk and mutton(meat) and Goat horns. there is a 10% chance that they give the horns. later this horns can be crafted into some new weapon or can be used as trading with the clevic villager. Also goats will eat wheat or haystack and spawn baby goat. Goats spawned in villages wont attack the player but the other biome goats will attack the player if provoked.
If goats were tamable then they may help you climb mountain regions....also spawning them in mountain biomes would be a good idea. tamed goats(if allowed) can charge on other and help you in a tight situation. Goats are afraid of vindicators as they roam with axes(more fear options can be discussed). A goat can be customed and requires a saddle to roam.
Minecraft team truly believe the Goat addon should be added into the game
I think you should edit this please let goats spawn in hills and extreme hills biomes like mountain goats as a variant of got but with a different texture ....
Goats are amazing. Come on Mojang, make this happen
yes please!! i grew up raising pygmy goats. this would be great! i agree w/ a lot of the comments.
my ideas:
1. Forest goats = pygmies! they can climb trees too! maybe they could be 1 block shorter and 1 block wider lol
2. baby goats would ride around on mama's back! they do irl
3. goats could jump up on your roof! they like doing that
4.they could rarely spawn a bezoar when killed, to be used in potions. bezoars were thought to be powerful antidotes in medieval times, and could be powerful antidotes in game too.
i think this last ability would really be the thing that clinches the deal for ppl who don't have a special love for goats and need in-game reasons to put up with their annoying nonsense. plus it'd add to their mystic shenannigans, give magic/alchemy oriented players loads of fun and in-game profit. they'd be items of high value for trades. history books say bezoars were worth 10 times their weight in gold, which gives us a pretty exact and even estimate for trade value.

Yes we need goats you gave us mules and llamas why not goats with new skins.
Hopefully comes with this Minecon's biome vote for mountains.
It makes sense, as there are no unique mobs in the mountains, and mountain goats have potential for things like horns and goats milk
Actually, they would live in mountains
They put mountain goats in they game but they don’t have the same feeling as a gooooaaaaat
Goat drop suggestion!
I definitely side with the players shouldn't be rewarded for killing passive animals - so here's my way around that to give us a cool new item - the ram's horn!Goats should be neutral mobs, when attacked by each other or a player they should turn and ram them with their horns (giving a small amount of damage but a lot of knockback) when goats ram horns with eachother while aggravated there is a small chance for their horns to "break" and drop the ram horn item. This item could have multiple uses but here's a few I thought of to start with:
1. Can be used decoratively when placed on a tripwire hook
2. Can be crafted into a horn instrument that a player can use - this produces a sound that can be heard from a distance (this item does not work underwater)
3. This item can be crafted into a gunpowder horn that can be carried in either hand - this item allows players using an elytra to craft fireworks in midair! Great for long travels and flight.Goats should drop their horn; there are so many usages of goat horns in real life.
I always figured many of the nonhumanoid mob sounds (cow, pig, sheep, ghast) were dev team members' own voices anyway.
a goat named "chupacabra" will attack everything
Goats can be used for many things in real life, so it has a lot of potential in Minecraft. I've seen suggestions for meat, leather, milk, and wool, but wanted to add that they would make a good pack animal, similar to how llamas are.
