I agree with you, I don't want to pay the same content multiple time for all my children!!!

Agreed this new set up is ridiculous!!!  I just told my kids to play minecraft on the PS3 where content is sharable. Forget PS4 for minecraft until they pull their act together.

Totally unacceptable I will not buy anything from minecraft again. And I will connect my xbox 360 again so my kids can play with all bought content..

I agree, and would like to add that this forces parents to access their bank accounts or credit cards via their child's account.

I was trying to buy my son a texture pack that he wanted, and a message appeared that a "request had been sent" to the parent account. However i received no emails, or text messages or anything. The xbox app on my phone said nothing. So I assumed that the message had failed to be sent and I bought the texture pack with my account, hoping that my son could then access it. But no, He can't and now I am asking myself if it is worth my time to dial up microsoft for a 5 dollar refund. And I still need to find a way to buy the texture on my son's account... And I have no idea how.

    This is tedious and unpleasant.

I agree to that!! this is ridiculous, I purchased lots of characters and textures packs on my daughter account and we used to share them smoothly, now I can’t use any of it because I can’t even buy them again as I own the game only on my daughter’s account!!!
the only workaround is buying the game AGAIN on my account and then buy the packs??? that’s ridiculous, especially with what’s going on with the world right now!!! we can’t afford this additional cost for a videogame while we are in the middle of a global pandemic!!!!!

Google will allow family members to share purchased content from their Store but not Microsoft!!

It really discourages me from buying anything really. And at this time of all times! Gouging families that have to stay at home many who are going to suffer acute loss and pain. Such a brilliant game on it's own as it is anyway. For most of the kind of stuff sold in the Marketplace it's cheaper to just play the Java version.

Well, seeing as this is a years old issue I guess we are just being ignored and feedback is pointless.

Just adding my two cents to this thread. Extremely disappointed that the content i redeemed of my xbox one s minecraft edition box can't be shared with my kids, whom it was intended for.  Roblox it is.

Well I wish i read this prior to setting up all their accounts.  Everything is on my account, and I dont play.  Can we at least transfer the content?  Have each of my three kids pick theirs like a fantasy draft?

Purchased minecraft dugeons $30 pack only to find out after establishing family sharing that I needed to setup the xbox account on the device. THEN, I  found out this was all in vain because the game doesn't even offer library sharing so neither of us can play together on our computers!

We don't have a second controller and now I have to spend $30 more just to be able to play this together and we're a family?

We shouldn't have to spend $60 just to be able to play this together, and I'm sure I'm not alone in this, offline local multiplayer shouldn't be the only option.

This is completely ridiculous. What is the point of setting up your Microsoft family account, properly linking your newly created kids accounts to your family, and then purchasing content if it can't even be shared between family members? This is the first and last purchase that I will ever make through the Minecraft Marketplace until this is resolved. This is a pathetic user experience Microsoft, pretty sad when companies like Apple who truly don't care about their customers do a better job at stuff like this then you do.

This was never corrected.  I just bought a few texture packs for my sons on my PS4 account and realized they can't play it.  I will not spend anymore money on this until its corrected.

I've already suggested this so many times to them and they never cared.

Does anyone know if there has been an update on this issue? I have 5 family members that play Minecraft using different “gamer tags”. I should NOT have to pay 5x the price of in-game content does my kids can play the same texture pack.

Just discovered this issue today. 2 years still no fix. Guess we'll spend money on a game who does want my kids to play.

It has been over a year and I still can’t share my content packs with my son. I haven’t bought any content since. Please fix this bug. I have a ps4 and want to share across PS4 profiles. Holy cow! I have never seen a big fix take so long. Over a year is way too long.

Can't state enough how much this STINKS.

You'd have thought that a company wholly owned by Microsoft, would abide by its basic rules for how to share content amongst family members.

It's not rocket science, and yet 2+ years on from this ticket being rasied - still no ability to share DLC content amongst family members.  What's the bloody point?

I made this exact same assumption that all DLC would be available across accounts playing on the same Xbox One. On top of that, my kids bought $100 worth of DLC on my account before I was able to set up their own accounts and put a parental lock on purchases. I chalked it up to a parenting goof and was ready to let it slide, but then I lost it when I figured out all that content sits on my account and I don't play Minecraft!

Is Mojang and MS even considering fixing this so all Minecraft DLC is playable across accounts.on the same console?

Joining the chorus here. My kids love Minecraft and have started asking me to buy them content packs with their allowances. Upon learning the content isn’t shared in a family, I am telling them we will not be buying content packs until this is fixed.

Just bought the Jurassic World pack. My kids can’t play it on their accounts. The only way they can play it is if I start a game and we use the split screen feature for multiple players. Every other game seems to share across multiple profiles on the same Xbox, why not this one?

Decided I'd finally start letting the kids purchase items on the Marketplace starting with the brand new JURASSIC WORLD. Came looking to see how best to go about setting up a parent account to make the purchase and share it down to child accounts. And now I see that that's completely not possible and that I'm setting myself and my kids up for disappointment and confusion by even attempting unless this issue ever gets addressed. It looks like I won't be making any Marketplace purchases anytime soon. What a shame.

Same issue here, purchased Jurassic World mod for kids on my PS4 main account (that bank details are set up with) and they cannot access it on their own accounts (same ps4) this is ridiculous. is anyone actually buying the same dlc on multiple accounts or just being annoyed and disappointed with the developers?

Wow, 2 years worth of development and content sharing is not a thing yet?  what a waste!!

Time to set new rewards for my kids as i will not be spending another penny on Minecraft until they develop a way to share family content.

I just came across this thread as my daughter wants me to buy a mash-up but I am conflicted as she would not be able to use it on her switch profile. If Mojang and Microsoft want people to buy these extras they need to find a way to solve this problem.

    What a trap.
I don't want minecraft I don't want mods. Why can I not take them off my account and put them on my family members account or at least share them. I originally bought them so my son could play. That's two years of purchases that I don't need and now would have to buy again for my 6 year old.

It's a no-brainer. We shouldn't even be having this conversation. Fix this, mojang. I have a PS4, and if I purchase content on my account for minecraft, under my PS4 profile, my kids do not have access to it. Nor do I have access to anything they (I. They don't have money.) purchase under a separate Microsoft minecraft account. This is in sharp contrast to the content I purchased previously in Minecraft, before the big switch to Bedrock. That content is now currently available for all three of us to use, so don't tell me it can't be done.

It's a blatant money grabbing scheme, making families purchase the same content over and over, because you know one kid has to have what the other has.

    Fix this, Microsoft.

I thought it was just me - I am SO incredibly disappointed in this purchase and if I could go back, I wouldn't do it again. I have a family plan set up but like everyone else, didn't know until it was too late that you can't share across the Xbox One S and I can't purchase them for everyone. That's WHY I bought this in the Black Friday sale two years ago - because I thought it was a reasonable deal - how mistaken I was... it's been nothing but a disappointment. Open things up to share across Xbox and Minecraft on the family setting. There is no reason that one family should have to purchase the SAME thing multiple times just to play together.!!!

So, Iam readig this in November 2020. Has this ever been resolved? Ihave had a 5 year old go from excited to have her own Xbox to gutted in 30 seconds because she can't play her worlds!
