(Feature Request) Purchased Content Sharing

Purchased content should be shared with all of the family in the house. I have 4 kids and my wife. I have all of them listed under "My family members" in my Xbox Live account. No family should have to buy the same content multiple times to play that content together in the same house! For example I shouldn't have 5 more mash-up packs at 7.99 each so we play in the same pack. It's rediculous! The older "Xbox One Edition" does and I just don't understand why the newer "Better Together" version doesn't. Evidently it's not "better together". This really should've been the case all along and needs to be rectified immediately. Thank you guys for creating an amazing game that brings my family together, minus the shared content of course. We are really looking this change and the Super Duper graphics pack coming! Hopefully I won't have to buy it 6 times. Thank you!

    Same problem. I have 2 kids, with kids accounts. For safety i dont allow them to play with others, i keep all that on my account along with payment details. I dont want to have to keep buying multiple times for their safety

    I've purchased a ton of content for my kid under my account. For now he's just using dad's account since that's where all the purchases are. There needs to be a way to transfer all of the content I've purchased onto my kid's account. Just add a button that says "Gift this pack" or something. This can't be hard to implement.

    It’s amazing that this thread is as old as it is and nothing seems to have changed! Not being able to share Minecraft content within a family unit is absolute BS! I’ll be steering my kid away from Minecraft considering that all extra content was purchased from my account and he can’t access it from his account. The whole idea of setting up accounts as a family is for parental control but it seems the Minecraft folks don’t care about that??!!

    I purchased the starter pack with the assumption the extra content would be available for my children. I myself never play games. I use my account to do the purchases for parental control purpose. Not being able to share the content defeats the purpose.

    I bought something on the market place on accident i ment to press B but i pressed A and bought something can you make it where we can revove it from our owning list and get our minecoins back please.

    I find this limitation ridiculous, outrageous and scandalous. I bought 2 skins packs for my two daughters while they were playing in multiplayer with me from the same PlayStation 4 (split screen) The purchase I made with my Minecraft credits from their accounts but in the end the two skin packs are linked to mine.
    I think this Is a scam.

    I will add to this. I won’t purchase anything if I have to purchase it for me and my 2 kids. I shouldn’t have to purchase it 3x to play on my Xbox with them, or have them be able to play without me with the content... rediculous policy. $0 from me until this is changed.

    Just found this while trying to find a way to share purchased content from n the Switch. It is super irritating. Bought mine coins with one kids account, didn’t use them all and didn’t think they wouldn’t be available under all the accounts. This feels like such a deliberate rip off. Themis like to creat special worlds under their own accounts but now if they want a certain skin it is only in one kinds account. Why should I have to buy it over and over again, presumably using more data space each time, to be used on the same switch? Please fix this.

    Never realized this was an issue! Bought my son 3 new skin and texture packs only to learn they don’t show up on his account on the same device, only mine. This will be the last add on I buy.

    Unfortunately I learned the hard way, I can't believe my daughter can't use all the skins she bought on my account, now that she owns her own is stuck to default one.


    Definitively not supporting you guys anymore, no more money from me unless you change this alienating behavior

    So my son and I started Minecraft on the Xbox and even though I bought 5 texture packs under my Microsoft account, he was able to download and use the texture packs as well under his kids Microsoft account.  Now we have a Switch and we play on that all the time now and the only way he can get the texture packs is if I sign in to my Microsoft account under his Switch profile.  The only problem is if we want to play in Realms with my sister and her family, we have to each sign in to our Microsoft accounts separately.  I'm constantly signing in and out of accounts for him depending on what he is doing (playing online with friends at the same time as me or alone using the texture packs).  It's a pain in the butt.  Please fix it so that my son can access the purchased content too.  It would make my life (and many others as it seems) so much easier.

    I mean, if you can, you can play offline multiplayer if you have multiple controllers and buy the gamepass on one account and play together

    Three years later, I can see there's no official response from Mohang and/or Microsoft. Are they really expecting us (parents) to pay again and again for the same content so they (kids) can play together with us? It's really outrageous from their side.

    My company policy is if 5 units need the download for one household, if you like our facebook page and give permission to send an email when we have an update or a new product for sale..we'd refund the other 4.  The way they have it setup is wrong but that's how we would get around it.  Developers want people to play together happy, not pissed off.

    I agree with this idea. I just got ducktales for my son but he has to play under my account and doesn't like doing this. Purchase sharing needs to be a thing. I think this should be relatively easy with Microsoft family account.

    I think it’s unfortunate that the title isn’t “family sharing for download content”. I guess it would have more upvotes if the title would better describe the wished feature.

    This feature is a must! Xbox has family sharing and xbox owns minecraft so Having to purchase the same thing several times for a family to be able to use the same content is not customer friendly at all, it has stopped me from buying any further content and switching to a different game instead. Although we do enjoy minecraft which is why im here making this post in hopes it will be changed one day soon

    These developer are not stupid they no how to squeeze every buck out of their games as well as microsoft they don't care if you have a family that would like to share content and save money no. That's why they have different emails great game but content sharing issue is nonsense you should only buy it once on the one Xbox

    You buy it once per family and load into a Realm (again, only one family member needs to pay for a realm subscription). Each family member can play independently in the realm or you can play altoghether.

    Thank you I have a similar problem my grandfather bought Minecraft years ago on his steam account but now I'm 18 and I want to make my own steam account and my mother is also bought me a few games on Thursday now and I wish I could transfer these games that I purchased over to when I make instead of buying more for instance I know my grandfather bought me the Minecraft and I want in the transfer that thing to my computer cuz I know it was bought for me but we don't know how to do that
