This is b.s. I have a 9 year old and a 10 year old. I play minecraft and they each have their own profiles. Buy 3 dlc of the same thing so they can each play on their profiles. This is vile. Let us buy a product and share it with our family.

This has been a feature request for awhile. We just don't buy any DLC because I am not buying it 2-3 times each so my kids can all have it.

If this was changed, and the parent account shared the DLC with all family members we'd be purchasing much more for sure.

I tried a year ago to talk to Mojang about this and they sent me to Microsoft support. In turn they sent me to Mojang support and they sent me back to Microsoft support. The final answer i got was that the dlc purchase system they use is not faulty, it is by design so because there is no bug/error they closed me off. Have not bought a single piece of dlc after that. Seems there is not going to be any change in this ever.

Because of just this issue, I just held off on purchasing the Master Collection and will instead get the Standard with just the game.

Mojang - please fix this so you'll get more revenue and improve customer satisfaction.

I have no idea how this is still an issue. Why has this not been fixed? I will be holding off on any resource pack purchases until this is resolved, which is a shame for Mojang, because my kids want all the resource packs. Fix this and I'll start buying them.

I agree. This is absolutely ridiculous. I bought a bunch of add-ons for Minecraft on one profile for my boys and went into my profile and my husband’s and can’t access ANY OF IT. What a way to rip off people. We won’t be buying ANYTHING else for this until you allow all profiles on an Xbox to access purchased content. We have complete access on our PlayStation. Maybe you should have words with Xbox or whoever is responsible for setting up this scam. Definitely not impressed. Seems rather dishonest.

I bought Minecraft Master Collection for $50 and from the minute that I allowed one of my children to open it, I no longer own the product, cannot open the product, cannot use the product, cannot review the product (because once a family member opens it, the buyer no longer "owns" it and the rest of the family cannot use it), and I cannot get a refund for it.

I spent hours on the phone with tech support and with account support. They cannot make it work, they cannot delete it and resend it, they cannot transfer it to my account so I can use it, and they won't even allow me to exchange it or return it for store credit.

I spent the money, and I have nothing to show for it. It's false advertising and bait and switch. (I already owned Minecraft itself, so the purchase gave me NOTHING and is non-refundable.)

And it looks like Microsoft is hiding reviews of this product to show general reviews for Minecraft (which is awesome for kids) instead, so that buyers will not know how many people are deeply disappointed and dissatisfied. Google search shows three stars, but then when you click through it's all *general* Minecraft reviews and 5 stars. This is fishy and dishonest.

This is lame Microsoft. Just learned this tonight. My son on the spectrum won't be able to play any of the add-ons he has waited so patiently for his birthday to get with any of his family members. Rotten, just rotten.

I just learned about this, too. I won’t be making anymore purchases.

This would be amazing because in my account I made I had a previous one so I wanted it to be on that one I agree.

I agree this needs to be fixed.

I will buy Game Content, just not until it is fixed where that is shared.

My 2 kids now have their own Live accounts and a gaming computer. I'm not rich by any means, but i'm a hard gamer since 5 yrs of age and i'm a living result of how positive gaming can have on peoples lives. They both own Minecraft and we have started to play our own world together. I've seen so many awesome things i want to purchase add into the world.

However, when i discovered that content is not shared, even though they are on my family tab, i have been put off buying anything! I love what content MS and Mojang have created and I enjoy supporting them, but i feel content sharing is a MUST to really let the community get the most out of the game without breaking financial status.

Please make this a priority, atleest for this game. I will support the content more, if it is more available for the family to enjoy :)

I have 5 kids at home and agree fully. I bought a Skyrim texture pack only to find out they couldnt even use it unless I was in game. That was the last purchase made for this game. Please fix this

Just got a PC with Minecraft for my kids and annoying to find (Googled) they can't use DLC purchased under a main family parent account. In app purchases for entire games are a pain as developers use this to circumvent family sharing on Android etc.

I ended up here because I was unable to family share purchased content with my kids. This is riddiculous and I urge Microsoft to fix this asap.

When this changed with “better together” we completely stopped buying addons for Minecraft. If it’s fixed we’d be a regular customer again. Microsoft has ruined the easy pick up and play that used to be possible within a family/household. Even a realm doesn’t help because you must connect to it with different users who then won’t all have the purchased addons.

100% Agreed, I would rather want to transfer all my purchase data e.g minecoins, skin packs, and worlds to an alt/family account instead of buying it once again.

And also, it would also make sense to transfer DLC packs e.g minecon capes, and maps that are no longer available.

This would make a great and positive feature.

Microsoft bought Minecraft, although they have made some cool things that have been added to the main game, removing the ability of people to share DLC across a single family owned Xbox is ridiculous. We can share the game, but not the fun extras, come on now. Any other game I get can be used Xbox wide, so why not the content for this one?

I keep all my DLCs on my alt account to ensure that I don’t lose my stuff in case I lose my account, and I’m unable to access them now. I’m outraged by this update. It’s not fair, like they’re pressuring extra cash out of us.

OMG Apple and other's did this years ago. Why so far behind the rest of the pack Xbox? The switch has family sharing now as well.

We have 6 people who all have to use one account because of this.

Why even have other accounts when you force customers to have to use one?

I just fell into this trap too.  Bought a new Xbox One for my kids for Christmas to replace the Xbox 360.  I bought the Master Collection version and redeemed the codes for all the extra goodies it comes with under my account only to find that my kids can't access most of it even though they are part of my 'family account' setup.  I paid an extra $40 for all that stuff.  They just want to play together on split screen and enjoy exploring new worlds.  Seriously frustrated and disappointed.  I hope the game is changed to at least allow for local play to share content across accounts like 360 did.  I have contact support to see if I can at least undo my redeem so I can let me kids use the the codes under their accounts -- I'll be surprised if I get anywhere with that.   I'm not willing to give my kids access to my account as it has all the pay info attached to it.

We play on PS4 and I first got really dissapointed that all the DLCs allready bought in the old version didn't transfered over through the update. That was really not OK Mojang! And now I fell for this aswell. You have managed to skrew this up completly just to make some extra cash? Is that why you have done this? It is insane to have to buy the same content multiple times so all my kids can enjoy this game. Please change this!

I was just getting ready to make my first purchase for the Better Together game, at least three different mash-up packs, and thought to do some checking first to make sure that the two kids I was purchasing them for would be able to use them. Glad I did! I'll happily hold my money until these packs can be shared with everyone using my Xbox.

Looks like I got sucked in as well. Purchased a mash-up pack under the parent account on the PS4. I read the mash-up pack could be used across platforms, so I signed into a switch and found I had to buy it again. I really think the 360 and PS3 teams really understood who was buying and playing the game. If they need more money to support the game now, why not charge more? Just provide flexibility.

Just to add my feedback. My son had been playing with my account and asked if he could buy some Minecraft content with Christmas vouchers. I said yes because we were setting up his account later on and I figured family sharing would work. When we got his account up and running none of his packs were there. I’ll not be buying it twice as I don’t play. Plus his younger brother is getting interested in minecraft and I’m not paying multiple times for the same content.

I own a PS4 and have two kids. The Minecraft game and all the packs we bought were purchased on my PSN account. Before the PlayStation Bedrock update, my kids had long been happily playing with the packs I bought. Now, suddenly they don't have access to them! This is not okay.

This is crazy, Everything on my PlayStation account is accessible by my son.  I have spent 2 hours trying to figure out why he can't see my content that i have been purchasing FOR HIM.  I don't even play minecraft.  Now when he wants to play I can't play on my other PlayStation because he wants to use the packs.  This is really poor design.

This is crap. I bought this world-pack thing for my kids to play and they can't  even play it when I'm not home. Need family sharing, or I'm not spending another dime here!!!

I just downloaded a Minecraft Star Wars Skin pack for my 9yo using my profile stupidly thinking all user profiles on my XBox one would have access to it.

I am not impressed if this needs to be purchased individually for all profiles in my family that wish to use it, but from reading other posts this appears to be the case.

    Very poor Microsoft!

I can safely say that this will be the LAST DLC I purchase.

    Regards,

    D.

ODINSSON81 turn on "require other players to download mash-up pack" when i play with people it just forces them to use it in my server, but never makes them purchase it. they just cannot use it on their own unless they join my server
