We welcome feedback about menus, toggles on menus, buttons on menus, input devices (like touch controls and keyboards), and Minecraft’s interface. How do you play? What would make it better?

Yes, it would be so simple to add something that displays the light level of the block you’re looking at.

If only you knew what the community had to go through just to get coordinates... That'd be cool though

Please implement the Java f3 to Bedrock.

Yes! Please! It's so annoying right now. -.-

Maybe they would add an item that could be crafted that would show you the light level of the block you are looking at?

I also like the idea of adding a light level indicator, or even better, the debug screen onto bedrock

This would make my life so much easier I wish the entire debug screen was available in bedrock but light level alone would be a major improvement

This would be a great addition to Minecraft 👍

I’ve been having tons of zombies spawn all over my house for days! I really need this indicator :/

Definitely need building a giant tree right now and really need to know where monsters keep spawning

I love the idea of being able to craft something! I understand how the F3 could be considered too easy, but something redstone powered and light triggered would be so helpful, and even has in-game precedent. Powered by light levels 8 and up for the block it's occupying, so you can check those dark spots. I keep getting monsters in my big library and I'm going crazy counting blocks from areas that look dim.

It would be nice to have the whole DeBug screen itself. But then again I like the idea of having it tucked away in your hud.

it would be even better to have the same function like in java where you can press F3 and it displays the hud.

This would be so useful when making mob farms.

For real man. I’ve watched enough Java players access their data screens (Don’t know what it’s called because I play on Xbox) to know I’m tired of the fact I can’t do the same. All I want is to build a mob proof landscape. There are so many awesome tools to mob proof an area the only thing I’m missing the ability to tell the light level.

I have the perfect solution. If you are really unwilling to give us access to the same data points Java players have then give us a tool that can sense the light level of the block it is pointed at. Call it a portable light sensor or something. Or better yet give us access to the data. I don’t know why I have to be punished for playing on bedrock. You think your making the game more challenging or intuitive. The only problem is EVERYONE consumes Java content. stop kidding yourself. We expect java abilities. I have gotten countless people to enjoy Minecraft YouTube content. Only to find they don’t want to play bedrock because it’s not what they expected.

Fr, I get anxious wondering if a part of my house is bright enough cause I dont want a creeper to spawn in my home and blow up without even noticing

This should be implemented the same way as coordinates; use a slider in the settings tab or by using the /gamerule showlightlevel true command.  It can just be a number in the upper left hand corner just above the coordinates.  No need for a separate screen.

And while we are at it, add a gamerule for showing what biome you are in as well.

    Yeah, great idea!
On java I use a lightlevel mod which can toggle a lightlevel overlay on and off. Great!
This should be part of vanilla in both versions of minecraft (:

It would be cool maybe a light indicator block if Mojang doesn’t want that.

Maybe Torch + Compass = Light Indicator or Glowstone + Compass = Light Indicator?

I would love some form of light level indicator as well (best suggestion I have seen so far is a toggle similar to co-ordinates)

BUT ... can we all please stop saying things like 'it would be easy' because unless you code for Mojang, you don't know if it would be easy or not. If you know it is easy, then create a mod to do it yourself.

And secondly, to all the 'do an F3 type debug screen' requestors, I have a very simple question - how would you access that on console? or Switch? We don't all have the luxury of a keyboard with lots of buttons.

I do know programming and yes it would be very simple for them to add it in. The data is already available to the game in that it uses that value to determine if a mob would spawn in any single coordinate point. It is very simple to add a simple numerical display of the data already available in the UI somewhere. As for a debug menu being accessible on the console it would just be a simple menu addition or button combination addition. How do you access anything on the console? Yeah, like that. They don't add it because they simply DGAF about their customers or player base. Its not a subscription game. They already have your money, they don't really care beyond that.

That this feature is missing from Bedrock edition is absurd. Why???

Please implement this in Bedrock as well! I understand that there were technical differences that caused the changes between Java and Bedrock, but the game already knows the light level of each block, all it has to do is display it in some way like the Java version does. As it is, I can’t currently figure out if light is the problem with my glow squid farm. They require light level of 0 to spawn, and without an indicator, I can’t tell if light is leaking in or not. If you don’t expect users to memorize what every block looks like at all the light levels, then this is something you should implement.

I would love to see this feature as most probably glare won't win.

I know right!!! All I want for christmas... is a light level indicator and biome indicator on bedrock. No awkward, impossible to read F3 screen. Just have them as options in settings next to show coordinates.

I just started playing MC and after watching a bunch of YouTube vids I realized this is still an issue. I am playing bedrock and would really like to have this option to make overall game play more enjoyable. Please add this mc.
