Agreed, I hardly want to play the Xbox one version because of this, it's just too important.

When I'm on Windows 10 Bedrock, autosave lags my world heavily on local multiplayer, especially when one player is in the overworld and another in the nether, it'd be much easier if we could simply save on exit (with another option of exit without saving), since longer saving screens upon exiting are much better than a laggy and poor experience when actually playing.

I switched over to using a Realm for this exact reason. For those that don't know, Realms allow you to load old copies of your world, meaning that exit with out saving is effectively a premium feature. I can load a copy of my world from several months back, or from a few minutes ago. On a normal world, you have to make manual copies of your world if you want backups which takes a lot of time and isn't feasible for large file size worlds.

the idea of this is to join a world that never saves this is to help pvp maps, mini game maps, or even testing out maps.

once your done with a project you can turn off saving, this way people who play the game don't have to keep copying the world to play it as well world's without reset you can just play without downloading. as for command blocks they wouldn't really need to be reset to play since you can just start the level again fresh.

i was thinking this could be added to java besides bedrock, just flip a switch and you don't have to keep copies becuase it resets.

also this could be a way to prevent grifing

the only time i'm bringing a thread back from the dead because it does seem more important now

now sure if it should be stand alone, world preferences, or world options
this will allow us to have more freedom at lest and make things a little easier or map building and play mini games as well as other possible uses

What in Hell are they thinking !!!!! ?????? ---- Why are they so hell bent on DEMANDING/FORCING everyone to play with "Autosave" ??????  ----  I HATE THIS AUTOSAVE FEATURE !!!!!! ---- HATE IT , HATE IT , HATE IT  !!!!! ---- This  "RUINS"  the game !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ---- bring back disable autosave and exit without saving !!!!!!!!

It doesn't seem like this will ever be added because Java Edition doesn't have this feature and they're trying to be at parity with Java. This was said by HelenAngel on the official Minecraft livestream.

It doesn't make any sense as Java can just add the feature as well.

This. Java just changed over and I can’t save unless I quit. Which is soooooo stupid! The way it was is the way it should have been. I often saved before doing something dangerous I don’t want to have to quit each time before we do anything it is the epitome of stupid 😩

I would like to see the option to exit without saving and disable auto save. My 8 year old and I play split screen on ps4. He likes to mess about on our survival world when I'm at work, so I have to amend stuff when I get back it.

Yes, specially now that Ps4 has bedrock... I never play with autosaving, because my town has a bad electricity connection, so usually the light goes off.. I don't know if this happens with other plataforms where people play minecraft, but in Ps4 if it is autosaving, and power goes off... the data gets corrupted and the world basically gets destroyed...

So it is a necesity in Ps4 to be able to disable autosave... I don't want to spend hundreds of hours in a save... and then loose all my data unless I make thousands of copies that last like 5 minutes to be made...

Is anyone going to fix this issue, or are they ignoring thousands of people?

Gotta admit, would not have downgraded from my 360 version had i known how screwed this autosave and no pause BS is.

Please fix, idc if i can play cross platform or not.

Right now ive wasted money on this trash.

honestly this is quite true... backing up can be quite a hassle, or we can just simply make a button where you can go back to the last save (manually save the thing)

100% agree. I've just moved over to bedrock from PS4 and not being able to disable autosave is hindering my experience, not least because of the constant lag spikes the autosave gives. With the current issues I'm experiencing I think I may just go back to the PS4 legacy edition. For my money it's superior, at least for the moment.

One the Xbox version my friends and I would play until we’d get bored make sure the game was saved and auto save was off then use TNT to destroy each other’s house’s or we’d burn stuff down for the fun of it. Reload the game and continue playing. I literally don’t get the idea that it’s cheating I mean it’s Minecraft....you’re literally just building stuff and 99% of the time it’s with your group of friends or alone anyways

I have deleted the PS4 version of Minecraft because of this issue.  Should they add it back (why they removed it, I'll never know!!), I may spend money on the game again.  Really really glad I didn't buy it for my new Switch like I was going to.

I strongly agree that you shouldn’t have to save when you leave the game, at least for CREATIVE. It wouldn’t matter if you accidentally duplicated things because you already have it all. Some of my worlds I have made on my own in creative, like mini games. I have to exit without saving or the world will be ruined. Love bedrock and everything it has to offer but not being able to disable automatic save is awful. I personally play Minecraft with my much younger siblings, mistakes come often but I love playing the game with them. Now I’m worried for my world that I’ve had for almost 2 years, I really hate the idea of not letting them play anymore just for something I could have just left without saving for.

On top of griefing and just messing up and loosing hours or days of progress it is awful for builders and I build mini games or at least I used to but no there’s no point because as soon as I build it and play it then it’s over I can’t replay it without recreating an entire map please just add the option to auto save rather than force players to play your game in your way remember when Minecraft was all about creativity now it’s just a blocky family friendly survival game we just want the choice to play the game how we want to I hate this game anymore because hunger games and other mini games were the only thing I enjoyed doing no there’s only servers where I can’t play against my friends and can’t build the maps

People always say I don’t like this because you can reload to before you die it’s like they don’t understand that we’re asking for the option to turn it on and off so if you don’t like it you can turn it off and honestly I wouldn’t mind if it’s considered a cheat in fact I think it should be mainly because it’s almost like god mode but a lot of people want this and even the people who don’t want it will have uses for it they just don’t understand the importance to some people like a lot of creative maps and all the people who got Minecraft in the past 2 years will never know what it’s like to build mini games with friends it used to be such a great feature also I think I found out why they removed it because you have to buy realms in order to have an autosave feature and that’s enough for some people to buy it although I don’t think I’m putting any more time or money into the game I’ve always been a builder and rarely a survivor but my building days have ended until they fix the clearly broken game

I cannot express how dissappointed i was when I realised that the normal save feature had been disabled.

This is the way i used to play for years and if I could i would ask my switch edition to be refunded.

Made a mistake today that literally ruins my whole game.
And if you ask, its not everybody that want (or can) lose 4 hours of gameplay for a silly mistake.

Im not playing again until it fixed.
You really screwed this one up for a lot a dedicated players. Congrats.

This would have been perfect for the situation I'm in. Currently somehow (i really don't know how) a zombie got into my villager farm and killed them all. A few are zombified villagers, and I think it would be easier to just cure them than to go find new villagers. But anyways my master tool guy, and armorer died and I put hours into the farm. If I could have disabled autosave (i had been playing for only 10 minutes or something so don't care if I lost the progress) them all my villagers would have still been alive. But because it saved when my villagers died, I can't get them back. Also know that in my world I have not found a nether fortress so I will have to find one to cure them. If there was just a disable autosave feature then I would have been good. Also if this was added it should not be counted as a cheat.

I absolutely agree. I’ve been playing on my PS4 up until now, and the disable auto-save feature has made the game massively more fun/entertaining/accessible!
I tried playing on my switch when I first got it, and I absolutely hated it. Went back to playing on my PS4 immediately. But now that there has been an update to the bedrock on the PS4 I’m not sure if the feature is still there. I’m almost too afraid to check.
So if this could be approved and implemented ASAP I would be very happy, as I’m sure others would be as well. I play minecraft to relax, not to worry if I’m going to lose all my belongings by falling into a chasm/lava pit.
As for all the people questioning if players should really have the ability to disable auto-save, why not? Minecraft has always been about exploring, building, and collecting. Having the freedom to do what you please in a virtual world.
And I think that freedom includes disabling auto-save.

Being forced to switch to bedrock without the ability to disable autosave has really made the game unplayable. The coding is not stable enough to have autosave active. For example stacks of diamonds disappear, anvils, etc just glitch out of existence. This completely negates hours upon hours of work and the user has done nothing to earn punishment. We did not buy a virtual gaming world to experience “realism” so the autosave bug is nothing but purely annoying. It has made this completely unplayable, and I won’t spend anymore time on the game if my efforts can just disappear for no reason. Please fix this so we can all go back to enjoying this game. You had a great year and are going to ruin it with this.

Good afternoon. The Minecraft video game undoubtedly guarantees users a beautiful gameplay experience; I recognize the company's commitment. Many functions guarantee the proper functioning of the same, with only one exception that ends up damaging its representativeness: Automatic saving, which ends up making it impossible to access the world's data unless there is a problem with the house's power grid, and that's what that happened to me; I lost a world after a power outage. Certainly a justifiable failure, given that the company has implemented this function aiming at a good game quality for the user. Please provide a feature that replaces automatic saving in future updates, which will undoubtedly improve Minecraft's rating on the PS4 platform. Thank you for the good work.

Livid that they have removed the ability to quit without saving. Hours of work undone by a single momentary lapse of concentration. What an absolute joke. You have killed the enjoyment of this game and I won't be playing it again until you add this feature.
