    Yea yea, we all know villagers are all dumb meaningless beings, but that doesn't mean Mojang should add a whole new mob! Devs at Mojang should make the existing humans smarter!

    just make villagers who go on adventures such as a cave explorer villager and a nether explorer.

    I disagree.  Players should be the most dynamic and interesting entities because they are being controlled by humans rather than the game's programming.

    I agree people who love to roleplay like me want to ‘talk’ to other characters without actually having to do discord and sending a script to them especially people who only have access to pocket edition we don’t get updates till the following year

    I think this might be a bit outdated because 1.14 makes villagers almost as smart as players.

    I dont exactly agree with the folks who say that we should only leave the game with the player as human-like entities. Adding actual steve-like entities with dialogue would be amazing and ease a great bit of the feeling of solitude.

    Maybe you could hire them to help you in building stuff or they could give you access to whole new recipes, items or maybe even give you maps of the regions they are around. They could even be backed by deep learning AI to get realistic and freer conversations and requests from the players.

    i think a good way to get one is by feeding a zombie a splash potion in the face and a golden apple. if that is too cheap, try and enchanted golden apple

    For the previous comments on this post, they shouldn't upgrade the Villager AI that much, because it's a villager. We want it to stay as its dumb, fat-nosed self. And instead of having one NPC that is super intelligent, how about we add a bunch of different NPCs that have different AIs? For example, we can have one NPC that builds, one that can cook, one that can explore, etc. etc.

    It would be nice to interact with other NPC humanoids that are free to roam, build, kill, eat, etc, but for solo games.   We could trade items such as maps, resources, supplies, etc.  

     

    As of this moment, anything we put into chests stays there as nothing can steal from them.  Other NPCs that act like Steve could steal from chests we put in huts if they come across them.  May need to make hidden chest rooms or hidden hideouts.  This would also further the need for locks to put on chests and doors.

     

    Different NPCs can have different personalities that can be learned.  Some are more trusting and some more devious.  Some trade easier than others.

    Perhaps a ghost-player would incorporate into the game better, or a player-like NPC only spawnable through commands for custom map builds. I like the idea, but there appears to be deeper lore in the players' backstory.

    it could be similar to the custom npc's mod if you are in creative. there could be a custom npc creator item in the creative inventory or you could use commands to completely customize them

    These used to actually exist! Not in the exact way you said (by that I mean they weren’t intelligent) except all they did was run around. Do I think they’ll add this? No. Do I think it would cool if they did? Yes.
