Ability to pause single player games (Bedrock)

Not sure why this is still missing. Having to quit every time something else requires attention is very annoying.

    The thing is that in bedrock edition, it is possible to join others, if you are friends, or if you are on the same Wi-Fi. Because of that I don’t think they will add the feature to the game.
    Example: I am playing alone and I pause to eat. Then one of my friends join. At that point my single player world would now be a multiplayer world. And because of that the pause button will not help.
    But with that said, I still think they should add it if you are playing without Wi-Fi. Because people can’t join if there is no Wi-Fi.

    Although temporarily closing the game and such is a good way to pause the game, it would be much better if you can actually "pause" it.

    This is absolutely unacceptable. Seriously, it's one of the most insulting decisions I've ever seen in a game's design. I'm playing offline in single player and I can't pause the game, after YEARS, PLURAL, of being notified that this is a priority feature to add. That is a bold faced lie.

    Between this, and the fact that I had a purchase straight up -vanish- from my account (two years ago, and Minecraft customer service STILL HAS NOT ADDRESSED MY SUPPORT TICKET), I'm at the point where I will straight up warn people away from Minecraft. Basic features aren't included, your purchases aren't tracked carefully enough, so I tell people that the company isn't reliable. They should let their kids play Lego Worlds or Roblox or something instead. I won't purchase any other versions of Minecraft until this is fixed.

    "Oh sorry it's working as intended" is the wrong answer. It's intolerable being unable to pause a game that works the way Minecraft does. I can't believe the decisions and quality of work you people allow.

    Look this is why i am voting for this and please tell me you guys understand me, i have been very jelouse of java bcs you can do a MLG cold quiting and comin. Most importantly relief. See when you have a hard time finishing a project or things like records, its gonna be a big relief in  java adition.bedrock you might get blown up THIS IS THE POINT PLEASE

    This is needed unless you're playing on peaceful. Most people are not playing on peaceful, pausing is essential. It would also allow Quick Resume to be implemented

    Just yes, I see it all the time in java and it seems very useful but I have always been jealous of it from the amount of times I’ve died do to it

    It has been four years now since a Microsoft game hasn't bothered to implement a feature that has been in almost every game for over thirty years. I'm not going to put money into a game that causes you to get killed every time you need to step away in a hurry. I'm going back to java edition.

    This would be super helpful as to when I’m playing and I need to go to the bathroom I need to pause the game. But it doesn’t pause it just lets a creeper creep up on me

    Blew my mind. Went to menu, where it has the option to "Resume game". Did some things, come back and lo and behold.. was killed. Looking closer, I see that, with the so-called "pause menu" open, day goes by, everything still moves around.. Why even make the Resume button say "Resume" if it's not actually paused? I looked all through the settings.. no option to activate pause. So i came here, to discover it's been a problem since 2018. Wild. Playing on PC (the kids are obsessed with Minecraft). Was on Java, recently bedrock was included. Trying out bedrock mainly because it's less resource intensive. But you can't pause? Pause is basic functionality for single player. Hope this is addressed soon.

    Finding out the hard way that something as trivial as the pause menu doesn't pause, in a game which is historically has this, almost immediately after shelling out almost $50 to re-purchase (after returning to MC after a number of years), is a deal-breaker. I would not have purchased if it was made clear this isn't meant to be possible.

    Where can I get a refund?

    (Heads up: some modern survival genre games will even offer a synchronized multiplayer pause, because playing together at the same time, in private, is a valuable point for many close friend groups. It's a matter of design work, not a hard technical problem.)

    It's been nearly 5 years and we still cannot pause in Minecraft bedrock edition. How hard is it to add a simple feature that allows us to pause our game still not a thing?

    A developer at Mojang Studios had stated that this is a priority feature to be added to the game.

    It would be very convenient if we could pause the game if we ever needed to take a break from Minecraft, and it would prevent random death events from happening again.

    It is quite annoying, me and my sister recorded a funny clip, we paused and went to look at it, we entered the game, and we got killed by zombies. We forgot to set our spawn point at our house because it was our first day, we lost our way and had to restart EVERYTHING, just because we wanted to look at a 2 minute clip.

    I know how yo pause on Nintendo.... You dont dead. And It only work when u put off your Nintendo. I write It in spanish and u can translate 😅. " Maten presionado Home y pulsa suspender consola. Mientras la Nintendo está suspendida se mantiene en pausa, solo enciendes y continuas la partida. Solo funciona así, si por ejemplo guardas y sales, hasta que no cierres el juego seguirá pasando el tiempo hay unos segundos de peligro, pero al menos si tienes que ir al baño puedes pasarlo y no morir y perder todo
