Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Palm & Coconut Trees (was: Palm Trees)

There a few different types of trees in Minecraft but I think one that would really liven up the world, and that could fit well with the new Update Aquatic, are palm trees. They could only generate on or around beaches obviously. Also, I would really really want coconuts trees to be added too. The coconuts could be kind of like cocoa beans but a little different. You could drink from them and eat them. I feel like this would really help and is something I’ve wanted for a while.

    As a rule, when I create a date pack I add what I would like to see in the game, so I have a full-fledged date pack that exposes the beach. I support this idea. If we talk about how I realized palm trees, then I made the extraction of palm tree seedlings a little unusual. Firstly, when destroying blocks of coconuts that are generated on a palm tree, they fall on the head once. If a player broke a coconut with his hand, then he gets a block of natural coconut, and if with an axe, he gets two pieces of coconut and sometimes pieces of coconut can be with milk. To grow a palm tree, you need to bury a block of natural coconut (put a block of natural coconut, and on top of it a block of dirt or sand). After that, a sprout will appear on the block that is located above the coconut. And a block of natural coconut will turn into a block of non-natural coconut, which is why when it is destroyed, two empty pieces of coconut will always fall out. Pieces of coconut are half blocks of not natural coconut. Coconut milk can be drunk and removes all effects like milk but can stack. The fact that coconuts do not grow on a palm tree, but are generated along with nmim (including from seedlings) is done on purpose to force players to grow palm trees to get coconut milk, and not have 2-3 palm trees to get endless coconut milk. I also want to note that unlike a bucket of milk, coconut milk does not always drop out when destroying a coconut with an axe.

    Two coconut ideas:

    1. What if coconuts could fall like stalactites? It would do a small amount of damage and it would be funny.

    2. After consuming a coconut, it should leave behind 1 or 2 bowls (like the halves of the coconut).

    Dates should grow on these trees instead of coconuts, if they grow in the desert, as date palms are more ecologically present and culturally significant in desert environments, where coconuts are more beach specific

    In real life, there are many fruits and food and etc that grow on palm trees, not just coconuts-so what if some palm trees had coconuts, others had acai berries, and maybe some others had dates? his would be randomized, of course

    i feel like palm trees should also be found in deserts and jungles, as palm trees are generally tropical trees, and they give tropical rainforests their flare in my opinion.

    Palm trees would come in handy in several biomes and places, for example:

    - Desert oasis where camels can spawn

    - More realistic looking desert riverbanks (as around the Nile)

    - Sandy beaches

    - Jungles

    - Rainforests

    Coconut trees have been a popular build within the MC community for many years. As of now, the usual go-to is using jungle wood, cocoa beans, and composters to represent coconut trees. It would be nice to have an actual coconut tree in the game. It can have white-colored wood so to be different from other wood types, the shade of white similar to coconut meat. The fruit can be used as food, furnace fuel, & sapling. The sapling can be planted in sand and soil blocks. It can be used as part of a recipe to craft Bucket of Milk, as an alternative to cows & goats when stuck in an island.

    An animal that can be added to the game that eats the fruits are coconut crabs. Coconut crabs can be a food source and they give more use to Bane of Arthropods. Also fun fact, coconut crabs are the largest arthropods in the world. Another animal but already in the game can also eat coconuts: parrots.

    The coconut tree has been a widely used tree throughout human history. I appreciated how mud blocks were added in 1.19 as Mojang acknowledged how mud was a widely used material for ages. Coconuts deserve this love too.

    Coconut fiber is used for making fishing nets, so adding coconuts to the game could potentially make Minecraft decide to add fishing nets to the game!

    maybe they could add palm trees around desert wells to make an oasis. makes deserts a little more lively and adds some personality to the often barren-looking desert wells.
