Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Squid should only drop one ink sac

In real life, squids, octopi, and other cephalopods only have one ink sac. Therefore, I think that squids in Minecraft should drop 0-1 ink sacs. This drop rate should be unaffected by Looting; to compensate, 1 ink sac should be craftable into 2 Black Dye.

    Not bad, But I don't think that any changes to ink sacks are necessary, since squid ink is already a staining fluid. I also don't see why Cactus green needs to change past a name change since green dye is simply crafted with cactus green

    I've edited my original post. I kept my original ideas for black dye; I like them because although it's true that ink sacs are already a stainable fluid, squids should really only drop one at a time, as mentioned in my post.

    I have, however, refined my ideas for green dye. Now, I propose that cacti yield nopales when put through a Stonecutter. Nopales can be eaten, smelted into green dye, or used as the ingredient for blindness potions (see my Reform of the Potions post for information on that).

    I understand where you are going with this, but to be honest for me it's hard enough to get ink sacs, and i live by the ocean. Instead, this is what should happen.

    A) Make an Ink Sac craftable into two black dye. I completely support that part of the idea, if it was just that i would vote for it.

    B) Make Squids (and maybe dolphins) breedable. I would love to see how some players would tackle the idea of underwater farms, plus this would provide a much cleaner way of obtaining Ink Sacs when you need the actual Sac. (To trade with villagers, etc)  

    C)  Make Squids attachable with leads. This would make it much easier to move them around, or bring them to your farm.

    Also Mojang, please keep the looting and spawn rates as is for squids. Thank You!

    I had an idea that kind of contradicts yours, but I'll put it out anyway to see what you think:

    Squids (and as of the newest snapshot, glow squids) have a limited number of sacs, say 4-6.  Each time you hit a squid, it releases ink, using up one sac.  By the time you kill it, it drops the number of sacs it has left.  This would be interesting since it would require players to find quicker ways of killing squid so that they get the most ink.  Over time, perhaps squid could refill their sacs, but since squids are a come-and-go mob that despawn all the time and are replaced by others, I don't think this would be necessary.

    why would you make the game less fun just for "realism" farming ink is not fun
