Petition to Revert Movement Changes MC-271065 and MC-241951 (WE WIN THESE!)

On behalf of the parkour and speedbridging communities, bug fixes MC-271065 and MC-241951 need to be reverted. Furthermore, these are actually considered features to many high-level parkour players and speed-bridgers, and should be classified as such.

Taking away the 40% speed increase along the diagonal will hurt a lot of mechanics, maps, and techniques that depend on this, both in parkour and speedbridging. Such a major rework will hurt these communities in the long and short term. This "bug" has established use in these communities, and will frankly affect more than just them. For example, as a user shared here, building in survival will be much more tedious, since placing blocks will be considerably slower on roofs, for example.

Also, taking away the individual axis cancellation of movement at slow speeds significantly impacts sidestep, which is hugely important in parkour and speedbridging. This is a common effect in video games often implemented purposefully, such as b-hopping in CS:GO or Quake. It will negatively impact the movement experience in Minecraft and make it more wooden and stiff.

I think there is no need to implement any of these changes. This will affect the casual experience by purposefully nerfing player movement, and it will affect high-level play significantly; that, in turn, will hurt Minecraft's longevity and force players to older versions. Please, Mojang, do NOT implement these changes.

    This just makes the game worse, like briding is slower, and many parkour strats are now impossible

    It's not just parkour, they made it so 2 block falls deals fall damage. Why even do this mojang??

    I don't know if these are going to get removed but can we keep standing on the edge of a block to avoid the effect and sneak sprint jumping.

    A longstanding feature was removed without input from the people it would affect the most. Parkour enthusiasts and survival builders alike have enjoyed this well-known behavior for years. Hampering the way players spend hundreds of hours enjoying the game was uncalled for, arbitrary, and against the original game design.

    Something Mojang needs to realize with a long term game like Minecraft is that you can "over-fix" your game until it has been fixed so much that it becomes unfun to play for old players (who generally keep the game alive) and removing the nuances of the game to discover for newer players to discover which will result in a game that is so polished that you can't discover anything interessting apart from the things the devs want you to discover.

    Such a synthetic experience will always be less fun than an experince that is more natural and takes human error in coding with pride.

    The famous sentence "It's not a bug, it's a feature" is not just a sentence to make fun of but it holds a kind of truth that not many people - even devs - realize.

    there is completly no reason to fix this, moajng should fix it in 2009 and not let it 15 years and let the community see as a featurn and revert it? why?, that is enough time to improve the render performance , very bad habit Mojang.

    just get this bug in to minecraft again and everything will be fine ngl that this bug was somesort part of minecraft, you cant just remove something thats an important part of the game. Please add it back!

    If they don't change it back the movement is gone and all the fun things like building gigant farms, bedwars, parcour and all that is just not so fun. so everyone will youse the old versions and all the upcomming updates will just be ignored by everyone. And Minecraft you did a greate job buy speeding up Minecards but down't make minecraft worse.

    Ich finde das sollte in spiel bleiben! Ich bin selber ein Pro und hätte überhaubt keine lust mehr auf die neueren versionen zuzugreifen, ausserdem haben sich die meisten Spieler an diesem (fehler) schon dran  gewöhnt. Bitte macht das nicht!!!

    Hello Mojang heres a german minecraft player and i want to tell you PLEASE DONT FIX THIS!!!!! 

    It wouldnt be minecraft anymore if there werernt any bugs e.g: TNT Duping, SAnd Duping and so on DONT FIX ANY OF THIS BUGS 

    I am ABSOLUTELY against this "BUG" Fix 

    the community will hate you and i will hate you too!!!! Minecraft is a great game and why are you making everyone ANGRY with this idea.

    PLS MOJANG its terrible im only going to update to see new stuff then im goin right back to the older versions without this it ruins speedbriging and completly changes how u play pvp you have to eat every time their not neer you casue unlike old versions you cant quickly get away eat then get back into the fight. not to mention STRAFING, COMBOS, SWORD PVP!!!

    last comment forgot to mention NORMAL SURVIVAL sucks now because i cant even explore my world without taking fall damage EVERY... SINGLE... STEP WHY ON EARTH WOULD U MAKE 2 BLOCK FALL DAMAGE

    I don't do parkour or PvP often, my I do respect, and admire it's dedicated fanbase, and seeing something like this happen to it kind of hurts me on the inside a little.

    I can understand there being unexpected behaviors in MC-241951, but it may also be a good idea to keep the old movement system as it is preferred by the community.
