Mojang, you can't just remove a "bug" that has been a feature for a decade, it will disturb the game of EVERYONE.

This is an insane "bug fix" to implement. Stop trying to turn Java into Bedrock. We like Java, and it's systems. Completely throwing the entire movement out the window is not a "bug fix", it's a "feature removal".

Ah yes, the exact issue I'm facing when I'm playing minecraft: I'm arriving too quickly at my destination. In all seriousness these are terrible changes and I'm surprised they made it past playtesting

    please put this back

    the comunity clearly wants this

    they already mistrust yall enough

An act of good will like putting this feature back might help patch things up with the community a bit.

The change is unnecessary forcing players to more slower, does not enhance game in any way, it just makes is frustrating and more boring to play.

    * Removal of 45-Degree Strafing: This mechanic has been integral to Minecraft movement for years, allowing for precise and skillful maneuvering. Its removal undermines established techniques in:
        * Parkour: 45-degree strafing allows for accurate jumps and fluid movement across complex obstacle courses. Its removal will drastically increase the difficulty of existing parkour maps and limit future map design.
        * Speed Bridging: Efficient and competitive speed bridging relies heavily on precise strafing. Removing this mechanic will severely hinder speedrunners and potentially make certain bridging techniques impossible.
        * Ace Race: While less crucial than in parkour or speed bridging, 45-degree strafing provides players with more control during flight, allowing for tighter turns and more strategic navigation.
        * PvP Combat: Strafing is a fundamental aspect of PvP, allowing players to dodge attacks and outmaneuver opponents. Its removal will simplify combat and potentially make it less skill-based.

    * Fall Damage After Two Blocks: While seemingly minor, this change significantly impacts the flow of movement and introduces unnecessary punishment for small drops. It will hinder exploration and make traversing the world feel clunkier and more restrictive

WE all love this game, dont ruin it!

Please don't ruin the 1.21.4/1.21.5 updates by overshadowing it with awful movement changes. I was legitimately excited for the new features before I realized there was secret changes to movement and now it's mixed at best. My question is, why implement a change to something as fundamental as player movement at this point in the game? No one asked for this so the only thing that's going to come out of a movement change is a controversy and more people not wanting to play the game or the newest installations out of frustration. I know you guys want to make the best game possible, but the way to do that is by keeping this bug in the game as a feature, similarly to crawling. All you have to do is remove %100 of these movement changes and I will keep looking forward to the update with excitement. Thanks.

How already many people mentioned, this 45° speed behavior is used as a feature because it is a part of the game for a long time. Changing this would force gameplay and maps to adapt which is a bad thing and generally beeing slower is less fun.. I understand that reliability and consitency in core game mechanics are important but from the players point of view we expect this speed increase and thus loose reliability and consistency in our movement for parkour etc.

I also want to mention that from the player community no one was experiencing this "bug" as negative for over 10+ years.

I'm new but slower sounds more annoying.

I really don't think this change is beneficial or makes the game more fun, quite the opposite, it makes it worse. So as the number one aim of any developer for a game should be to improve it and the users experience, i would say this change is quite horrible.

As a long term minecraft fan, I have always used strafing, especially for bridging, and it's definetly a positive thing. Not only is it the base for advanced parkour, PvP and bridging strategies, but it also helps the casual player be slightly faster while bridging.

Really, I just thing that at this point, it's not a bug, it's a feature.

if this is really even about bedrock parity, just give bedrock the same movement speed as java. what is it with this obsession the devs seem to have about only taking the worst of both worlds. bedrock STILL doesn't have subtitles, are they gonna remove them from java next, for the sake of parity?

This is a rubbish change Why would you remove a feature that is central to how many people play the game? Shame on you guys, man. At least ask the community. Please revert this immediately.

Add it to the list of times Mojang seems so out-of-touch with their community, that makes people like me think they're not aware that they have a community to begin with.

I don't care if it is a bug, it's a core part of the game and doesn't need to be changed, as for parity, no sane bedrock player is gonna diagonally bridge when they can just godbridge in front of them. PLEASE REVERT THIS CHANGE!!!

This silly bug is not just a bug, it's a part of what makes Minecraft's movement truly unique. It's helped the speedbridging community tremendously, and even the building community in some parts! Fixing this issue would make huge parts of Minecraft a lot more tedious and annoying.
