It's crazy how Mojang is actively making the community hate the game more and more, by removing "bugs" which are seen as features by the player base since they haven't been removed for a over a decade.

terrible change, nobody asked for this, will only split the community, makes the game slower, makes the game less interesting, destroys a bunch of parkour maps, ruins pvp. nobody asked for this, stop ruining the game

Please don't remove the 45 degree strafe glitch, it's hardly a glitch at this point, I mean this bug existed before I was even born, do not fix it mojang, like actually don't people are gonna stick with 1.21 if you do.

Strafing adds a lot of necessary depth to 1.9+ PvP. I won't speak on its effects on bridging and parkour, but I will say that as a pvper, fixing this 'bug' (It's not a bug anymore imo) would make the game a lot worse for a lot of pvpers, and completely ruin the upper levels of the competitive scene, which is keeping many players active in the game. If this change is made, I will probably just quit, as straightlining being the only viable strat is horrid for the competitive community.

Considering the logic they're taking, it might as well be fair game that other bugs-turned-'features' such as quasi-connectivity, TNT duping, building on the Nether roof, etc. were to be fixed too.

Jokes aside, those changes are either incredibly tone-deaf, or made purposefully to suck the identity out of the game. Either way, Mojang should reconsider these changes if they don't want their community to get fragmented further.

I get it Mojang, you want more intuitive movement mechanics, but you don't actually need to have more intuitive movement mechanics, it's fine as it was. Please please revert!

I Agree. On behalf of the PVP community too, this is a aspect of the game many, many players work on to optimize and use to their advantage. I remember telling so many people, so many new players to strafe. I don't know if they took it or not, but that little bug you just "fixed"? that was considered part of the game. along with 2 block falls doing damage, and sprint sneaking. Those little quirks are part of the game. Anything that's been there for so long, part of the game. And don't get me started on what you actually need to fix. so many things on the bug tracker are untouched. All you focus on is how to fix FISHING FARMS. and now you've taken a break from that and came after bugs, really features that we all know and love.

Please for the love of god revert this bug fix. Minecraft is a game built on fun bugs, the competitive community would not be where it is today without this fun game mechanic. It would be such a shame to patch this and make the game feel more stiff and slow. A sandbox game should not make changes that restrict player movement, especially if that involves changing the base mechanics that have existed for 15 years

Still can't believe mojang is "fixing" stuff while refusing to actually improve the game or fix REAL bugs, there are MANY bugs that need to be fixed, and honestly whoever reported this bug again recently, should feel ashamed of themselves, I cannot comprehend this need to feel like you "helped" in some way, by whining and complaining about smth, minecraft has been going in a horrible direction for so long now, they will add stuff no one cares about, while secretly destroying and ruining mechanics we all care about, it's almost like they want us to hate them, and it's because we are dealing with microsoft, who has the same issue with newer versions of windows, windows 11 for example, disaster to create such a rushed broken product with so many removed features we all loved while ending support for windows 10 and forcing users so heavily to update. I cannot fathom what is going through their brains and we really need an entirely new team working on minecraft, get these dudes outta hereeeee.

The fact that they even made these changes after they've been used for more than a decade and widely liked is insane in the first place.

Mojang, you're really making it look like you hate the playerbase. What are you doing?

Even players outside of the parkour/speed communities are affected by this change. These movement systems have been in the game and widely accepted for years now - they are not bugs. These changes benefit nobody - please revert them.

Bro please add the feature back. It makes most every parkour map useless and it is ood for bedwars. If they remove this forever we are screwed

Haven't been involved in the MC community in a while, but I think when you already have such a large, active, and dedicated fanbase, that is probably at least 50% of the current players, who are dependent on the old mechanics, such a change would be devastating.

An idea I do have is maybe the new movement changes can be made as a gamerule that can be toggled on or off.

    Thanks.
