    These "bugs" have been features that people have been playing with for years now, why are we just now fixing stuff that people have used and adapted to? What is going on?

    I already avoid Bedrock SPECIFICALLY because of how much I hate the movement. If they change Java to be the same walking-through-Jello feel I might actually stop playing.

    The diagonal movement is unintuitive when compared to reality, and normal physics. I still feel that it should be kept how it is, due to the amount of strategy built around this being the way the game works, most notably bridging. The fall damage change, however, is different. There's no theoretically correct number fall damage should start at (that wasn't chosen by the game designers). This is a significant change that causes vastly more accumulation of fall damage, and therefore annoyance, over time. Due to how short these distances in blocks are, a change from 3 blocks + 1 jump to 2 blocks + 1 jump is about a 25% alteration, which is hugely significant. I've tried it out in a normal survival context and it felt worse to play. Every time I took damage after jumping off a 2 block ledge, I noticed. I'm sure over time I'd stop noticing and it'd become more of a background irritation, but still, I can't remember any change made any time recently that I've thought actually made the game noticeably worse. I always feel irritated when people get annoyed at the latest features simply because they dislike them or view them through a negative lens, but I agree that this causes too much harm to be worth the benefits.

    minecraft, respectfully, these changes remove so many parkour and pvp aspects and they have been in the game for like forever. I hope we get enough votes!!!!!!!

    We waited for YEARS to get an improvement to minecart speed at the risk of breaking a few people's rollercoasters, yet parkour maps and competitive speedbridging get the ax with no fanfare? Please revert!

    Never in my life has the phrase "nobody asked" actually resonated until I saw the update movement changes, it feels like Mojang Devs are looking into an alternate universe for community feedback. Has any person in the past years of Minecraft's existence ever at all complained about this? No. 

    I simply cannot grasp what magical place Mojang has been taking its community feedback from recently, because it is clearly not of this planet.

    Stop patching bugs that are older than a large amount of your playerbase. Pretty simple.

    세로 반블록은 창의성을 해치는 일이고 했으면서 45 패치는 창의성을 해치는 일이 아니라는 걸까요?

    제가 파쿠르 유저인 것은 아닙니다.

    그래도 45가 파쿠르에서 얼마나 중요한 기능인지를 아는 입장에서 댓글을 달 수 밖에 없었습니다.

    I completely agree. As a builder, with this change it will significantly more difficult to build just about anything, especially things high up where its easier to crouch and move around to make sure I don't fall. The 2 block fall damage would be more of a pain too especially considering i often walk off of walls that I'm building that are 2 blocks tall onto the ground to be able to get down quickly without needing to waste food when it is still limited.

    I don't think these are bugs at all. They are featured that the entire Minecraft community has grown to know, use, and love over all these years and suddenly changing them is going to be damaging on all ends.

    I'm disappointed that this was done with such little communication from Mojang, I hope they consider ways to give changes like this one more thought and opportunity for feedback in the future.
    I don't see this change as a good reason to be angry with Mojang unless they ignore community feedback though, since they might not have considered how the change could affect the game and community.

    I hope Java Edition developers are not under too much pressure to 'fix things quicky' or 'improve parity', as that would make it difficult to stop detrimental fixes like this from slipping through the cracks.

    These "bugs" have been in the game for so long that it can not be interpreted as anything other than an intentional game mechanic and removing it does nothing to improve the game and instead actively detracts from the game and makes it worse for every player.

    Not entirely sure why Mojang even thought it was important to "fix" those mechanics, it's built into the game so much that players didn't even notice it was a glitch in the first place.

    I litteraly just learned how to speed brige good and now its so much worse pls change it back :,( speedbriging is one of the coolest things in the game why would you nerf it so bad mojang!

    Even if these were "bugs" that needed to be "fixed" they were in the game for so long that they became part of the game. They aren't harming new players, but have actually positively impacted the older players who learned to utilize them. So many things that the community created were utilised by strafing and speed crouching, especially pvp and speed bridging. Which can hurt and change the multiplayer pvp and speed running community. And if its to be more realistic, that isnt really what everyone is focused on. Sure, at times it is nice, but this is also a videogame and should be enjoyed. Not to mention the other changes I had heard of about changing the distance of fall damage from 3 blocks to 2 blocks. You know how annoying that would be, especially for early gameplay? Or how about the potential changes to not allowing the swimming animation on land, aka, crawling? All the secret bases some of us have made and mining strategies that we use would be gone with it- This is like a repeat of the water bucket clutch situation.

    There are somethings I can understand and view as bugs, but then again, isn't the more important thing that they are fun?
