    Drop Items on Death is often a "hard mode" feature...   surprised it hanged in there that long.

    Its one my most hated things of Minecraft..   the very reason I have quit the game and restarted.

    Been playing since Atari/Arcades...  its a Hard Core feature almost everytime.

     

    Just make it a Toggle for all modes, Not a Cheat and lets move on.  No Mans Sky (another all ages game)

    Lets you turn it off no issues.

    At best, you give an award to those who have it on, and give them trophy or cloak for doing set of tasks with it on.

     

    Minecraft is an All Ages game.. let people have there fun, how they want, and reserve "Hardcore" for harsh features.

    I was excited to hear about this change, but as I understand it, it only applies to newly created worlds, so people can't take advantage of this change in their existing worlds.

    You should allow people to toggle the Keep Inventory option without enabling cheats if the difficulty is Easy or Peaceful. This allows people to use or not use it as they choose instead of locking them into one or the other.

    If it's exclusively told keep inventory is on in the description of easy and peaceful mode, that would be a good idea. There could be an extra menu right below the difficulty section for players who wouldn't want it on to easily turn it back off. Another idea is that there could be a different feature added instead of fully keeping your inventory, you would only lose certain items on easy and peaceful.

    Eg. You keep armor, but lose all blocks and items.
    You lose half of your items at random (Kept All: logs / Lost All: beef and planks).
    You lose around half of the amount from stacked items (64 logs to 32, 5 beef to 2, 16 planks to 8).

    Yes please! this would be amazing for playing with my 6 year old who get's EXTREMELY frustrated when he dies and all of his stuff is gone. I've had to "revert" our realm a few times to older backups because he lost something coveted. We don't turn on the setting now because we still both want to earn achievements.

    I concur with other opinions stated here, namely:

    1. For easy and peaceful, have keep inventory not count as a cheat, default to on, and be able to be toggled off.

    2. For all other difficulties, have keep inventory count as a cheat, default to off, and be able to be toggled on.

    However, it is absolutely critical to not break backwards compatibility with user expectations. That is, the state of keep inventory should persist across software launches.

    Alas, with 1.21.50, the team flubbed it, and now it resets every time you reboot the server.

    Suppose you maintain the Keep Inventory toggle, but when you change the difficulty to Easy or Peaceful, the toggle automatically switch to on while higher levels off, it will be better. Because the toggle still needs Activate Cheats' support.

    I actually prefer it be for Peaceful Mode Only, cuz if it were both, it would be too easy!

    Although Terraria Players could say something different

    i don't think keepinventory should be forced. it should be kept as a setting and i don't like that you have to enable cheats to use keepinventory.

    I tried it by going into creative, take out an item, and changed into easy survival and the item still drops. Is this even true?

    大賛成です。この実装をずっと待っています。

    イージーでも難しく感じ、ロストが嫌でやり込めません。

    チートして実績も得られないまま進めることにも意欲的になれません。

    イージーのまま緊張感を持ってやりたい人もいると思うので、

    インベントリ保持、エンチャントレベル保持のオンオフを選択出来るようにするか、

    スーパーイージー等、新しい難易度での実装でも良いのでよろしくお願いします。

    Please make this happen! there was never a reason for minecraft to be more punishing on easy than any souls game, that's ridiculous.

    getting achievements without being able to loose items is clearly regarded as a cheat, even if Mojang doesn't "officerly" count it as such, players will still. Keep Inventory is a cheat.

    I think this is NEEDED in B(ug)edrock edition but not in Java since dying and losing all your stuff because of a stupid glitch that doesn't let you go back and get your items is honestly a pain

    It would be better if you provided death coordinates in chat and give items a longer time before despawning in a loaded chunk.

    This is the main problem, we cannot get back to get our stuff in time if we do not know exactly where we died.  And about the time we find it, 5 minutes has passed and too much valuable stuff is lost.

    The time and levels it takes to make great gear, enchant it, etc, just to lose it to a despawn really sucks, when in real life, the stuff would just still be there if no one else took it.

    I am sure you can find a way to alter the despawn time on an item's individual basis.  So you can select just the stuff ejected from a death to give it a longer time.  But if you start with giving the death coordinates, that would help more than anything.

    I play on a PC, so when I remember quickly, I can use the XBox game bar clip recording to grab the last 30 seconds of play.  Java, if the player had on F3, has the coordinates at death.  So just give the coordinates at death, simple and way less complaints about needing keep inventory.

    I like this idea but I think it'd be nice to just have keepinventory separate from cheats like it is in java. no reason to make bedrock and java even more different than they already are.

    a way to do it is make it a option as in set diff to peaceful/easy and its unlocked and starts off but u can turn it on and if its normal+ its a locked option and off

    Oh god please no, keep inventory is already unfair enough, PLEASE PLEASE keep it a cheat, the weak worms don't deserve the achievements after getting baby treatment, it would help the noobs gain skill instead of staying in their comfort zone and saying "hehe minecraft is so easy im too good for this" or at least just nerf it like someone said to the hotbar only.

    Keep inventory keeps shutting off no matter what I do in my world. It's not a server or realm world, but a normal world and it keeps shutting off. I tried turing it back on manually, I tried the /gamerule command, it still keeps turning off

    I think this would be a great change because easy and normal have a miniscule difference in minecraft to it would be nice to have a larger difference.

    like this idea, but how about make it to where only certain achievements are active and not all because then you can just like, idon't know maybe do the most risky achievement possible but with out the risk, like that defeats the purpose. but I'm not voting.

    I don't like this idea 0 offense
