Hi there. As someone interested in technical redstone, I am occasionally interested in using update suppression for portal splitting, obtaining bedrock block item etc. These kind of things are incredibly challenging and a lot of fun if you can achieve them successfully, and represent the pinnacle of survival Minecraft for a certain type of player. I have followed with some amusement the endless battle over the years between Mojang and the more hardcore elements of the technical redstone community over update suppression, with every new update that blocks previous methods eventually being circumvented by some clever new exploit. Why do you not put an end to this cat and mouse game by making update suppression a game rule and/or server setting that can be turned on and off as desired? Then you can leave it turned off by default but if technical players want to use exploits on their servers or single player worlds they can just turn it on and use the classic methods that were available in earlier versions of Minecraft.
