I have a suggestion to kill two birds with one stone:
- Let's face it: Wandering Traders are a pest (most of the time anyway). They pop up right out of nowhere with their llamas and all, with no regards for private property. Here I am tending my front yard, and poof! out of nowhere there comes another one of these guys to breathe down my back, keep following me around, trample all my crops, and expect me to barter with him like we're good old friends. Is there no way to tell these folks to keep off my lawn?
- Meanwhile, there are those other trespassers that keep littering my lawn with Ominous Banners, and since I like my place neat, I pick them up and tuck them away in a chest, where they keep piling up, being no good for anyting.
How about a game mechanic that turns Ominous Banners into "No Trespassing" signs? I mean, which traveling salesman would want to approach an abode that openly flies a Jolly Roger atop the chimney?
So, here's the proposed mechanics:
- When a Traveling Salesman attempts to spawn within, say, 64 blocks of any Ominous Banner placed on a wall or floor, the spawn attempt automatically fails.
- When an already spawned Traveling Salesman finds himself closer to such a banner, he tries to flee from it.
Other human mobs might also honor such "No Trespassing" signs in one way or another; for example:
- Villagers might avoid areas with Ominous Banners.
- Pillagers might spawn less frequently near Ominous Banners (unless near a Pillager Outpost of course)
