Basically the underworld is a brand new addition to the overworld. Past deepslate, gneiss, which would have its own brick and other variants, would replace where bedrock currently is, it should have the same durability as reinforced deepslate, making it extremely difficult to reach the underworld, its generation should be similar to the nether, very open and have oceans of new water, bioluminescent water, giving off low light levels, having a grey sand as a shoreline. It would have a blue-grey tone, have a foggy atmosphere and be extremely dark. There is very little plant life and it is very bizzare, very thin, grey trees, leafless and grey grass, a new type of mob, based off a venus flytrap would try to eat the player. In the underworld, various crystals could be found, used for different colored redstone lights and colored tinted glass. 3 new hostile mobs would occupy the underworld, including the Challenger or Guardian, will expand on different post about mobs. Every world will have a handfull of entrances to the underworld, the challenger/guardian will fight the player and mimics other mob’s behavior to test the player, once killed, it will drop the challengers key which will grant access to the underworld, via very spiraly staircase. Very few structures would generate but they would be very much worth it, will expand more in a post about structures. Biomes in the underworld include, the spiritual forest, where the only plant life is, the sandy valley, and the depths.
