Use smiting tables to combine two armors so that one seems to coat the main armor.
This lets you put dyed leather over netherite, while also showing parts of the netherite armor.
The stats are the combined stats of the armor. Other factors also apply.
The armor is repaired using the main armor's material. In the example above, netherite will be used.
This allows for more customizability while also buffing your armor.
Iron on iron, gold on gold, leather on diamond, and other combinations can also be used.
Other materials can also be used instead of armor:
- Redstone: Lets you transmit redstone signals.
- Lapiz: Reduces enchanting costs and gets rid of the "too expensive" feature.
- Slime: Knocks melee attackers back.
- Glowstone: Makes the armor glow in the dark.
- Skulk: Heals you when receiving experience.
- Turtle scute: 3 seconds of water breathing(per piece).
- Armadillo scute: Blocks 25% of blockable damage(per piece) but armor breaks faster.
- Goat horn: Improves melee attacks.
To apply a second coating, the Secondary Coating Smiting Template is needed.
