Minecraft's cave and cliffs update has added a new 'depth' to the world of minecraft, but the oceans feel outdated and forgotten. I propose a change that would add more depth to the minecraft world, the Depths and Shallows Update!
This update would add the following:
- new ocean biomes
- new ocean depth levels
- new surface biomes
- new dimension(?)
- new passive mobs
- new neutral mobs
- new hostile mobs
- new flora
Ocean Biomes:
-Volcanic Depths > volcanoes of various sizes, with giant gashes in the seafloor spewing magma.
-Rocky Shallows > a biome with large spikes of varying heights that reach towards the surface.
-The Trenches > Large underwater cliffs
-Underwater Oasis > a fantasy biome, basically an underwater jungle.
Ocean Depths:
-Photaic > Current ocean depth
-Twilight > Spawns beliw the photaic zone, light levels are reduced.
-Midnight >below twilight, player receives a blindness-like effect and must rely on volcanic activity and bioluminescent flora to navigate.
Surface biomes:
-Rocky Beaches
-Tide Pools
-White Sand Beaches
-Volcanic Beaches
Dimension: The Abyss
-essentially the abyssal zone.
Mobs:
-Seal (passive)
-Whale Shark (passive)
-Stonefish (neutral)
-Shark (neutral, will attack if player is carrying fish or raw meat)
-Whale (Neutral)
-marlins (neutral)
-Anglers (hostile) fiction monster resembling a humanoid anglerfish.
-Leviathans(hostile) A massive sea monster found in the midnight zone.
