As we all know, enchanting system in minecraft is problematic.
People tend to use villagers to get all the enchants they need.
Mending is too easy to get and also a must-have on every tool.
Anvil xp cap punishes people for not adding enchants in a proper way.
And enchanting table is too randomized.
If we want to change it for the best, we need to take care of all of these things.
When it comes to the villagers... Current experimental changes seem to be ok, but I would get rid of mending. It should be a rare enchant that can be only found in a chest but also by a special quest similiar to a trial chamber to make it somewhat renewable in other way than fishing.
Get rid of anvil xp cap (and get support to use colorful font inside <3), make naming a constant cost. Also give repairing with materials an actual way to compete with mending.
And finally - enchanting table.
It has problems such as being radomized, second enchanting button is useless and several enchants would use a buff (see other protections than the main protection).
1 and 2. enchanting table needs change. I'm not sure if UI can be changed properly but there is a lot of things to work with. Community has a lot of better or worse ideas. I'd love to hear them here.
3. Buff other protections so that they aren't exclusive with just protection. It would be awesome, because you could make better armor for more uses. Finally people wouldn't max out just protection and forget other enchants.
