Request to Continue Providing PDB Files in Future BDS Versions

Dear Mojang Studios,
 
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing on behalf of many in the Bedrock Dedicated Server community to express our concern regarding the removal of PDB files in the latest preview version (1.21.10). Historically, PDB files have been crucial for debugging and maintaining plugins loader that enhance the BDS experience. Their absence in future releases could have severe negative impacts on our community.
 
PDB files provide essential debugging information that allows developers to create and maintain plugins loader effectively. Without these files, updating and ensuring plugin compatibility with new BDS versions becomes exceedingly difficult, potentially leading to a decline in available custom plugins and tools.
 
A lot of bedrock servers rely on a wide range of plugins to offer unique experiences and manage server operations. The lack of PDB files hinders the ability to debug and update these plugins loader, which could result in server closures and negatively affect the player community.
 
While we understand the security concerns that may have led to this decision, we believe alternative measures can address these issues without compromising development needs.
 
We urge the BDS development team to reconsider the removal of PDB files. Maintaining these files is vital for the continued health and growth of the BDS community. We hope to finding a solution that addresses security while supporting development.

    Bring back PDS files!! This is outrageous to the Minecraft Bedrock community. It's not only PDB files but bring back modding support for Xbox aswell!!

    PDB files are essential to maintaining community mods and plugin loaders. C++ is impossible to mod properly without them, and we don't have the Java luxury of community mappings.

    Pdb file grants extra access to user. In short this is important for bedrock modders. Already bedrock edition modding is so bad don't make it worse.

    I'm mainly a Java player. But disabling this prevents the growth of so much in terms of modification to a platform which could really use the support of modding. Without these we would not have equivalents to things such as equivalents to Paper or even Spigot through Bedrock. Hell, Bedrock modding as a whole needs more wide support in general. So, if you really want to help us either reinstate PDB files or actually add proper modding support for this platform.

    Typically I'm your average, annoying Bedrock Hater, but this just sucks. It sets a concerning precedent for the future of modding in general, and isn't fair to the thousands of hours developers have put into making mods for this game. PBD files are important for modding capabilities and patching exploits that have been left in the game for years, and there has yet to be a competent alternative provided to developers.

    I am a strictly java player a even I care about this. Java is great becouse it is moddable and I want the same for Bedrock as well.

    With the help of pdb files, many client side mods could be made for MCBE, which would significantly enhance the experience and make more MCJE players want to try MCBE. In my opinion, mod existence is the reason why MCJE is as popular as it is

    This would just cement the fall of bedrock edition as a whole. I don’t want this to happen. I know people would still play but only as a forced option, leaving as soon as they can. Pdb files hold immense importance to keeping this edition alive. Please mojang, please microsoft.

    Minecraft Bedrock has gone full corpo. Rip the last bit of approval from the community Mojang still had after the caves and cliffs Desaster and the copper bulb.

    Removing this file will drastically reduce the server plugin support in bedrock, as well as increasing the difference between bedrock and Java. Please keep the file.
