Request to Continue Providing PDB Files in Future BDS Versions

Dear Mojang Studios,
 
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing on behalf of many in the Bedrock Dedicated Server community to express our concern regarding the removal of PDB files in the latest preview version (1.21.10). Historically, PDB files have been crucial for debugging and maintaining plugins loader that enhance the BDS experience. Their absence in future releases could have severe negative impacts on our community.
 
PDB files provide essential debugging information that allows developers to create and maintain plugins loader effectively. Without these files, updating and ensuring plugin compatibility with new BDS versions becomes exceedingly difficult, potentially leading to a decline in available custom plugins and tools.
 
A lot of bedrock servers rely on a wide range of plugins to offer unique experiences and manage server operations. The lack of PDB files hinders the ability to debug and update these plugins loader, which could result in server closures and negatively affect the player community.
 
While we understand the security concerns that may have led to this decision, we believe alternative measures can address these issues without compromising development needs.
 
We urge the BDS development team to reconsider the removal of PDB files. Maintaining these files is vital for the continued health and growth of the BDS community. We hope to finding a solution that addresses security while supporting development.

    Me and my friends are seriously considering to leave Minecraft now. And we and a lot of players worldwide WILL leave Minecraft if this happens for sure.

    PDB is extremely useful to all players allowing for creativity with mods and anti cheat for server owners.

    I know I'm pretty much a java player but I think I have my two cents to say that removing the pdb files would be a bad idea foreveryone I understand that this may be a security issue but I think it's important to have pdb for debugging and development for developer mods from people who are in the Minecraft partner program please reconsider. Please this will not go well for everyone on bedrock This is important for developers and creators alike . Who are in the partner program for bedrock eddition again I'm just a Java player but I kind of speak here for people who play on bedrock it be crucial for people to have pdb files

    This game loses immense value to gamers if this isn't rectified and is a signal of worse to come. This is Doomsday as a full time MC player.

    In the early days,Modding the Server Side uses a recreational version of the server protocol,Like PMMP and more used still on featured severs like Lifeboat,As the Game gain more progression and eventually felt the same features as it's counterpart version,These Server Software maintained by the communities couldn't catch up to the dozen features that have been released,And end up missing a lot of features from the major update like only Few Blocks, Mobs,and terrain,It is such a problem since you cannot experience the whole base game on a community server software because it is just a replica and the maintainers do not have time to add these because of cost and it might result in more glitches and unusual computer bugs as well,So to solve this situation, Why not just modify the vanilla server to add the modding capabilities to it, while maintaining the whole aspect of the base game, Now there wouldn't be issues surrounding about missing features from the server side as well,But removing such important file that is needed for identifying such feature will ultimately gain bad reputation to the game itself, Similarly to the Encryption of LAN Multiplayer last year that affected several application that uses it to link people to other people worlds,It is more advanced than the Xbox™ Game Tunneling because you can find friends easily rather than Xbox™ Partying because that's only on the Xbox™ Game bar found in Windows™ 10 and Windows™ 11,Think about it firstly the changes you adore.

    it's genuinely a very crappy thing that microsoft has done here, and it's obviously intentional what with them just adding expensive addons to the bedrock marketplace. i hate it when corporate greed overtakes creative ability and user freedom. i hope that in future they give us back this ability and even make bedrock edition more compatible with modding, but i'm sure we can all see where this is going....

    Modding is a crucial part of Minecraft, no matter the version, if modding didn't existed minecraft would be 90% less popular than now, Mods allow players to customize the game their way and i don't think a paid game should have microtransactions in it (I am lookin at you marketplace), without the pdb file, bedrock modding wouldn't be possible, please provide the file to us in future versions of BDS

    The main reason why this decision is made because of client side injection of several features that affects the players in that server, The OS of these client side injection are mostly open type operating system such as Windows™ and Android™, The Iphone Operating System has indeed experienced client side injection but the development of the client stopped a long time ago,Now These 2 OS mentioned,There is still a way to block these Injections,On Windows games you already seen this type of feature sometimes as a kernel anti cheat,I know it is so advanced but let's actually start a Anti cheat that other Xbox™ games can be also used,and it can protect other games also from these,and if it's detected well put the ban in the Xbox Account instead or even make it a Hardware ban similar to the Xbox™ Line of consoles,For Android still crack down on the Bypassing of the Google Play Licensing Check,Make the Game not even launch at all and just use a toast to indicate the problem,This will also decrease the illegal way to get the game and modify it also,Make it not to work with third party apps as well
