Request to Continue Providing PDB Files in Future BDS Versions

Dear Mojang Studios,
 
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing on behalf of many in the Bedrock Dedicated Server community to express our concern regarding the removal of PDB files in the latest preview version (1.21.10). Historically, PDB files have been crucial for debugging and maintaining plugins loader that enhance the BDS experience. Their absence in future releases could have severe negative impacts on our community.
 
PDB files provide essential debugging information that allows developers to create and maintain plugins loader effectively. Without these files, updating and ensuring plugin compatibility with new BDS versions becomes exceedingly difficult, potentially leading to a decline in available custom plugins and tools.
 
A lot of bedrock servers rely on a wide range of plugins to offer unique experiences and manage server operations. The lack of PDB files hinders the ability to debug and update these plugins loader, which could result in server closures and negatively affect the player community.
 
While we understand the security concerns that may have led to this decision, we believe alternative measures can address these issues without compromising development needs.
 
We urge the BDS development team to reconsider the removal of PDB files. Maintaining these files is vital for the continued health and growth of the BDS community. We hope to finding a solution that addresses security while supporting development.

    Dear Mojang,

    As a fellow addon maker, I say you should not get rid of the PDB and BDS files, Because I will be a Java modder if you do get rid of the PDB and BDS Files, It will be kinda unfair because I want people on all devices to enjoy things I make,

    Minecraft has had a small handful of good additions in the past six years I would say. If you aren't going to make meaningful additions, just leave it to modders. Don't strip important documentation.

    I don't use Bedrock, but i KNOW the importance of the modding community to both Java, AND BEDROCK, the files in question, of the PBD files, are required and NECCESSARY for these folks to do the things they do, and since it allows them to do all they do, it makes them, and the users of said creations, happy, and I support that, therefore, I support this vote.

    Funny how bedrock is already widely regarded as being the "worse" version and mojang seems to be doing nothing but making that viewpoint truer with every update

    I dont know much about how to modify the game itself but I am someone who consumes marketplace content regularly. If it becomes inconvienient to mod without the PDB files there will be less people willing to try to mod and less mods then in general. Also my sympathy goes out to server owners I watch a couple of youtubers who are server owners and dealing with hackers is already painful enough. Again, dont have enough programming knowledge to understand what PDB files do in those situations, but I know it would suck to lose a level of security. I really do hope they listen and dont go through with this. Its gonna break my heart, man.

    To simplify the Post for little old Microsoft, If you would Replace the Existence of the PDB file, Every MOD or ADDON will cease to work meaning in every Minecraft servers like HIVE and CUBECRAFT Will not work without the use of addons.

    I understand the means and the safety of the BDS Community, but if your intention is to Remove the concept of PDS Files not only for Security, but your own means of Paid MODS and ADDONS, then it would break the hearts of many and will be a disgrace to the BDS Community and every single Modding Community both Java and Bedrock, but if that was not your intention, then we hope that you can see clearly and restore the PDS file not only just for us but to the whole Minecraft Community all over the world.

    Having access to modify the game is one of the most important features of Minecraft. Especially when it comes to servers. Even though I exclusively play java, I cannot ignore this because of the fact that this will negatively affect a part of the community, and that if this is not reverted, it could set a precedent that could harm even more parts of the community. This should be reverted, no doubt in my mind.

    I will be looking forward to modding and seeing this is heart breaking I want to be a bedrock modder not want to play Java and make some stuff Java has for bedrock and this happenes when I tried making mods for the first time this is bad vote on this and let mojang know market place is not only place you should get a map on

    its kind of sad how many things in the world are only getting worse... please mojang, do NOT remove PDB files, 95% of the life of your amazing creation will go to waste if PDB files are removed.

    i cant afford a pc for java edition so i can only play bedrock and if you are removing my freedom to play how i want to without buying horrible marketplace addons idk if i want to keep playing this game
