Fix Minecraft Console Edition's only parity issue

Towards the end of Minecraft: Console Edition's lifespan, the PlayStation 4 Edition of the game was updated to the Village & Pillage update, because of this, the Minecraft: Xbox One Edition and Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition were left behind on the World Of Colour update. (1.12)

At this point, every other Console Edition had been updated to at least the Update Aquatic... (1.13)

That is, all other than the Xbox One and Nintendo Switch editions. This doesn’t exactly make sense either, considering their predecessor consoles, the Xbox 360, WiiU, and even PlayStation Vita - the least powerful version of Minecraft Console - had gotten that 1.13 update, despite being significantly less powerful. This petition is designed to request that Mojang, Microsoft, or 4J Studios updates the Xbox One and Nintendo Switch Console Editions of the game to 1.14, or the same update the PlayStation 4 received, since they are more than capable of handling it. This would also fix the parity issue between the legacy versions; with the newer-gen consoles all having the Village and Pillage update, and the older-gen consoles having the update aquatic. This is something Mojang are striving towards with the Java and Bedrock versions of the game. Console Edition shouldn't be left out when all that is required is taking the finished update files from the PS4 and porting them to the Xbox One and Nintendo switch versions - then there would be no need for any future work on the Console Editions of the game.

    as a person who plays minecraft xbox one edition, this would be fire because I've really wanted the aquatic update but unfortunately never happened because bedrock was on xbox first which meant they didnt update the legacy edition since there wasn't any reason to. obviously my only complaints are no sword blocking (I think) and having to use phantom membranes but PLEASE ADD THIS IM BEGGING YALL. has anyone found this from the minecraft legacy discord server cuz I have 👍

    this would be the best thing to happen, just a simple update to end off the console edition. i know how much people want these editions to be updated to the latest, but they just arent powerful enough (i guess, im not entirely sure), however having these updates to the more powerful consoles would definitely be something i would appreciate and i would love it if this actually happened. Please, Mojang, 4J, whoever, just make it happen. Please.

    This is an awful idea. This is the only way to play Minecraft before the 1.13 update on Xbox. Many players regard that update as a bad one, that changed many aspects of the game. Please do not devote staff resources to take away this version of the game. Many people enjoy playing it as it is.

    The reason those additions didn't get Update Aquatic is because of Bedrock. The reason why only PS4 got the Village & Pillage Update is because it was something with Sony not wanting Bedrock on the PS4, I think because of Minecoins. I think the main thing you should be asking is for the ability to still be able to get these versions if you have the bedrock edition because you are unable to buy the Switch Edition anymore, and it would just be great for the other consoles too.

    Yes, this sounds very nice, i only got Xbox One Edition because i saw it was an older update then Xbox 360, and i wanted some nostalgia. But now that I'm done with that, yes. This makes perfect sense, and i would love this. Especially now that i can use Horizon to go to older versions when on Xbox 360 ANYWAYS. Hopefully this is seen.

    When I started playing Minecraft, I mostly played Minecraft Xbox One Edition with my brother. When Bedrock Edition got released, I never moved to Bugrock, so I stayed on the Xbox One Edition. I didn’t know at the time that this edition got discontinued, and I was thinking that the game not updating was some sort of a bug or hardware issue.
    Over 3 years later I found out what happened to the Xbox Minecraft. Since then I dreamed about was that one day… Minecraft Xbox One Edition updates…
    If this post gets enough votes, there might be a chance of the dream of a Xbox One Edition update - which is probably a lot of people’s dream - comes true.
    And I mean, an update. There is no chance for Minecraft Console Edition to return, but a Village & Pillage update would be enough for most of us.

    I feel if Possible, all LCE versions of the game should be updated to 1.14. And if they feel up to it, look into cross play across the consoles. This would fix any of the issues and also give some versions of the game a reason to be played on + Just make the.. One sec.. Millions of players who still play this discontinued version happy with their very suddenly discontinued edition of minecraft.

    3 main reasons though:

    Nintendo switch edition Minecraft (LCE) Is not available anymore on the Eshop in favour of the less popular bedrock and

    -This should be put back on the Eshop As a different game. So people can play it without piracy.

    Older consoles on older hardware may not be able to handle this. Such as PS Vita.

    - A few consoles may suffer from this, however, i don't feel as it would stress it that much considering 1.13. and how optimised this version is for each consoles abilities and hardware.

    Many online stores/services/networks have shutdown. Such as the Nintendo network for Wii u, Including the Wii u Eshop.

    -This means the only way to update would be to mod your console and or have a service like Pretendo support updating games and or use Community tools.

    This, aswell as making the skins from marketplace backwards compatible would truly make legacy console edition a timeless version of the game. If they could make a section in the skin selector to select any skins purchased from bedrock edition on that account, it would still be moderated, easy to implement, and a great QOL change, aswell as making marketplace skins more lucrative for them.

    Also, they should re-release legacy for free, or make it only $5USD. It's a shame some still can't play the game, especially those with a disc, who own a digital only console.

    They should very much at least update xb1 edition and switch edition to 1.13, As I've seen people unable to transfer their xbox 360 worlds to xb1 because it's on a older version than the 360

    They all should have the ocean update at least especially the xbox one version so you can transfer the 360 world's to xbox one and play it from there.
    This sounds like good idea to do for the consoles

    I would love for xbox one edition to have the ocean update, same version as the 360, so I can transfer my worlds to xbox one version. Would be nice to able to swim faster like I can on the 360 and stuff.
    All the consoles should have a finished update and not be left behind please.

    Mojang/Microsoft Didn't give the Legacy Versions a fair and respectful goodbye to the Legacy editions, they deserve one last hurrah! so let 4J finish what they had started all that time ago :)

    Personally, I reckon that they should separate Legacy from Bedrock/Java and release unique updates for not just XBOX/Switch, but also PS3/4 and XBOX360. (No point for the Wii U since the servers shut down.) The updates shouldn't be too drastically different, but some new blocks exclusive to it would be interesting, and make Console Edition relative again.

    The biggest problem here is Mojang doesn't really own Minecraft anymore, Microsoft does; a $3 Trillion dollar company who has put profits above all else to get there. 

    So my question is this; what profit incentive does this give Microsoft? Since these versions are no longer available for purchase iirc, I don't think there is any.

    This is a game changer! It would be a perfect addition to finish off the Legacy Console Edition with all the newgen and oldgen consoles having the same update (1.14 and 1.13). It would make my day if you added this Mojang.

    While i would like to see xbox one edition get at least the the 1.13 update, they would also need to fix some bugs if it were to get the 1.14 update as pillagers are to op they have a 4 chuck detection distance and a 8 chunk tracking distance, also raids are nearly impossible as they spawn in caves on the outside of the village (i had to use spectator mode in bedrock, to find them), they would also need to fix mob spawning/de-spawning as currently i have 3 spawners that just click, even after setting word to peaceful and then back to normal, so this would not be an easy task.

    I am 100% wanting this to happen. Also, another parity feature missing is the Nintendo Switch Edition's lack of map packs, which needs to be added, I miss Frontier :(
