Could Mojang hire someone to act as an ambassador to community code? Let players send in their mod code with a video of what it does. If it gets over 10,000 likes (a number that will change if the number of people voting changes) someone will review it and maybe add it to the game.
The ambassador's job would be to explain on videos or streams why certain additions would or wouldn't work and give suggestions on what to fix to give it a better chance during the next round of reviews. If the mod makes it to a point where it would work well in the game, is well enough optimized, and has a version in both Java and Bedrock then it gets added to the game.
I imagine there will be lag time between the ambassador making suggestions and the player base coming back with revised code so maybe in that time they can stream themselves coding a community idea that they believe in. That way, at all times, the community can see their ideas coming to life in the game, the design decisions behind Minecraft can be better understood, and if anyone thinks they know what is best for Minecraft and has the drive to spend time on the game they have somewhere to channel that energy.
I imagine Mojang is more than able to handle this internally, but if you want someone I would be more than willing to pilot this program this summer (2024).
