In my opinion, player effect particles are too obstructive of the view. This issue has been recently compounded during ominous trial chamber runs where at one time the player could be seeing on screen a wind burst explosion, spawners activating, spawners producing AOE's, mob particle effects, arrows flying, death poofs, enchanted hit effects, etc (Could be a new advancement? :P )
Currently it seems like the player effect particles originate randomly around the center of the screen within a short radius.
I suggest the particles to instead originate from 2 spots, half as often, from either side of the screen. The particles may still sometimes drift to the center of the screen, but it wouldn't be nearly as obstructive, and would still be just as informative.
