Hello,
I've been studying bogs for many weeks now, and I believe they would make a fantastic new biome in Minecraft. Why? Because they're fun!
With bogs, we can introduce:
-
A new mud-centered biome, which could make mud less rare and encourage players to use it more. Mud is a nice block, but crafting it can be a bit tedious, and finding it in mangroves isn't always enjoyable due to their rarity.
-
A new crop: rice. Introducing rice would allow for new water-based crops, similar to sugar cane. Additionally, why not introduce rice bowls as a new and enjoyable food item for Minecraft?
-
New fun block: wet peat. This block could cause players to sink, similar to powdered snow in the game. It would add a fun and adventurous element when traversing muddy areas, akin to quicksand scenes in adventure movies.
-
New block and fuel: peat blocks! These could provide a new and efficient fuel source, particularly during the early game or in emergencies. Experimenting with new fuel sources is always exciting in Minecraft.
So, I hope I've piqued your interest in the idea of a new bog biome in Minecraft. I understand it might seem similar to mangroves and swamps, but bogs offer unique biodiversity and are typically formed in basins, especially after glaciation. Introducing them as a biome between tall mountains and traditional biomes, or slightly below the typical biome height, could add an intriguing dynamic to the game.
Thank you!
