This is a little idea I shared on the Minecraft Suggestions Reddit a while back (inspired by LDShadowlady's "Dream Update" video), and now, I thought I'd share it here!
Imagine swimming in the ocean and at some point, the water goes so deep, you can’t even see the bottom. All there is, is darkness. You pop a water breathing potion and decide to explore because through the darkness, you see a faint glimmer of light. The depths aren’t as safe as the surface, however, and it hides a creature that’s waiting for curious travelers who dare to swim too deep…
Down below, you find the lost city of Atlantis. It has a plethora of unique loot and mysteries to explore. In fact, the chests all have a unique glow to them so players can spot them in the darkness! Be wary, as some of these glowing chests aren’t what they seem—just beneath some of them resides a giant anglerfish, using a "chest" as a ploy in hopes to devour you whole. Essentially, this lost city is the deep dark of the ocean, and it's being guarded by ancient anglerfish.
Of course, this is just a fun idea, and there are certainly places it could be revised. I just think an underwater city to explore sounds like it would be so much fun, especially when you know something terrifying could be lurking nearby.
