While I recognize that this may be a very unpopular opinion, I'm certain I'm not the only person that feels this way. But I, personally, am starting to really dislike the way that new worlds are generated nowadays. Since the Caves & Cliffs Update, Mojang has (obviously) significantly changed the type of caves that generate and how they generate. I feel as though this generation has taken priority in newly created worlds. So much so that the terrain and overall landscape has now become neglected. Meaning, biomes are now littered with absurdly large chasms that span from the surface down to Deepslate. Whole mountains have been seemingly excavated and carved away to reveal these expansive caverns that stretch for ages and connect many different cave systems. I've even seen villages generate halfway inside the mouth of a cave.
I would really like to see Mojang implement the option to customize the Default World Type when creating a new world. Similar to how you'd customize the levels to a Superflat World. This customization would allow you to tinker around with the world height, surface level, what type of cave will generate in your world (Spaghetti, Noodle, Cheese, or Chasm), what level will these caves will begin to generate, etc. Maybe this customization would also see Presets as well. Like if you wanted to generate an Alpha like world that'd be an option too.
Or, Mojang could just decrease the amount of chasms that generate near the surface or push them further underground.
