I feel there needs to be more dog breeds/variations. There are 13 cat veriations. Even though I am a big cat fan I feel dog fans need representation i feel taiga and snowy taiga should have stray dogs and a mix of both stray cats and dogs in plains villages, desert and savanna should should have stray cats but you should still be able to tame wolves to make stronger dog breeds.

My suggestion: make wolf armor armor trim-able! It'd add a lot of customization to wolves besides just the collar.

I would expand the armadillos to have a higher chance to spawn in Savannahs (which is a nice biome for them) but a lower chance to spawn in other biomes like grasslands, deserts, and rainforests.

It would be nice if armadillos occasionally spawned in Badlands biomes, as a few of them represent areas that armadillos actually live in in real life.

I'm very sorry, I'm going to be raw in what I say.

This feels like a useless update. Why have armadillos? Does the devs really care about minecraft or they just add whatever they want?

I also thought it's unfair compared to the fireflies. Fireflies even not added as frog food would have added a lot of atmosphere to some biomes.

Honestly I don't get any of the choices. I feel like great effort is done but it's not focused around anything in particular.

Old minecraft was playful, you were isolated, limited, but it was fun. Block limitations were great for creativity and adding just one was something special.

Now you have a big world and when you've spent some days playing everything is similar. You have to trade with villagers to get anywhere if you don't want to spend months just to get enchanted netherite tools. Even diamond takes longer to get with the deepslate (I love this blocks aesthetic though).

I'm not totally against it, of course it adds lifetime to the game. But sometimes I wish old worlds like indev could be bring back, with isometric screenshots and some custom biomes added (like imagine indev with cherry trees or badlands). Like an option aside from the main thing.

I liked the armadillo but I would like it if you could put colored dyes on the dog armor and that you could put armor trims on them

I think that adding durability to the armour and making it fully block a significant amount of damage is a better implementation than reducing the damage that the wolf gets, something like completely blocking a creeper (or even an upgraded? creeper) blast but the armour gets destroyed in the process. It makes the amour more useful but also makes the armadillos themselves something that the players would want to take care of. I would also say to make them enchantable/dyable/trimmable but I would also like the horse amour to recieve the same treatment.

I liked the armadillo but that the wolf armor has more protection than the diamond horse armor because a creeper explodes next to him and he dies

please put the eyes back on the side of the head. they are prey animals and in real life their eyes are on the side. they look stupid with the eyes on the front

Like some other commenters I wasn't sure what to think of the eyes at first but over the course of the day they (and Minecraft armadillos in general) grew on me a LOT. While a little change, they now have such a huge charm point compared to the original designs with that added touch of Minecrafty derpiness. Armadillos as a mob turned into something that I thought was as cute as any real world animal, to an iconic and lovable character that can hold its own among the rest of Minecraft's broad cast of creatures. I haven't had it for long, but I'd already be so sad to see it go. This is a wonderful design choice, I'd love it if you kept it like this!

In regards to wolf armor I think this is the perfect opportunity to expand on the smiting table with armor upgrades that keep wolves out of tricky situations like fall damage or lava, maybe some of these upgrades could even enhance Wolf AI to take on new behaviors relating to combat, traversal, or helpful behaviors like digging holes and herding sheep.
Of-course these could also be applied to enchantments but I kind of prefer the idea that these need to be found in a structure like other upgrades and templates, and what better spot for that than the new Trial Chambers, especially with the new trial spawners making the items somewhat renewable if a little rare.
It might be a tall order but Wolf Armor on it's own, especially with how weak it seems isn't going to entice the player base to use it if it doesn't address the many perils wolves may face in game, many of us often leave our fluffy friends sitting at home all play session because they haven't managed to adapt to the world since Beta 1.4, more than a decade ago.
Unfortunately some of the player base seems convinced that mob-vote related features often don't bring much to offer, so why not use them to remedy Minecraft's growing pains instead of bloating the game with small isolated features that don't even tie in with the next update's theming?

    Dear Mojang:

Whenever you release a new feature, you seem under the impression that you should isolate it from the rest of the game, and you don't take use cases into account. Your new features lack both reason and depth.

Let's demonstrate this with your dog armor: I don't want my dogs to die. I want them to come on adventures, and maybe occasionally help with an enemy. I want them to follow me around and be good doggos. Not as soldiers, just pets.

I can't do that if one creeper explosion or misstep into lava will kill my dog. I love my dogs and don't want them to die. This armor (which I hope is just a rough draft) is exactly what I predicted you would implement as soon as it was announced: The kind of armor that might let a dog survive one additional hit, and nothing more. So... completely useless.

The problem you need to solve is: People keep their dogs at home all the time because taking dogs with you is an unrecoverable death sentence. Make it so dogs can survive, or don't bother with dog armor at all. There's no reason to use it as is.

As for depth? Armor trim would be nice. Coloring would be nice. Some degree of customization would be nice. You have these for our armor. Yet with this new armor, you completely ignore what you've previously implemented. No connection to the current game, when it'd be so easy

Make your features part of a cohesive experience. Otherwise, Minecraft will just be a mishmash of junk.

Overall? Fix your design principles and do better.

    -A Minecrafter

I think the Wolf Armor alone isn't sufficient to protect the wolf while fighting.
My idea is that when the wolf has low health, it curls up like the armadillo and waits for you to feed it to regenerate. This would work similar to the Axolotl, where most mobs no longer target the wolf, but the wolf doesn't regenerate on its own it waits for you to feed it.

The wolf armor wasn't very useful, in my opinion, it didn't even work against a creaper, it should protect the same as a player's diamond armor.

I have a bunch of suggestions regarding the Wolf Armor:

    1. As a bunch other commenters said, giving the Wolf Armor some customization, such as dyes or Armor Trims goes a long way in making it more popular, especially because it would make the feature less isolated, and therefore tie in better with the rest of the game.

    2. Also suggested by a lot of commenters: Enchantable animal armor. So not just Wolf Armor, but Horse Armor and maybe Saddles too. This would allow for much more freedom in providing specific resistances for your animals, and could even open the path to some really cool new enchantments that are exclusive to animal armor.

    3. This is something I haven't seen anyone really suggest yet: Let Wolf Armor be reinforced with Netherite, or just include it in the recipe in the first place and buff the armor as a result. Reinforcing could for example happen by using a Smithing Table with a Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template, this would also tie in nicely with Armor Trims. Furthermore, Diamond Horse Armor could also have an upgrade to Netherite Horse Armor.

    4. Last but not least: Also as others suggested, improvements to the AI of the wolves. Even with Netherite Wolf Armor with the best enchantments, if the wolf just goes into all kinds of dangerous situations by itself, it will still only be a matter of time until it takes too much damage, so making it a bit smarter in its movement, on top of the other suggestions, will definitely make taking wolves with you more popular.

    1. The armadillos should be bigger
    2. They should have different variants (colours) like in the early concepts (in fact, real armadillos also have different colours and variants)
    3. Their eyes should be on the side (real life armadillo's eyes are on the side, not in the front of their face)
    4. In real life, armadillos can eat eggs, seeds and those things are currently in-game
    5. Their ears should look like in the early concepts ( not a flat-looking)
    6. The curling animation should be more active (they bounce all the way up and then curl up, just like the animation in the Mob Vote trailer)
    7. The armadillo's sniffing animation (showed in the trailer) is missing
    8. Their walking animation is really tired-feeling. It should be more active like in the trailer

    Changes I would consider:

    • Move the eyes to the side of the head. In the trailers for the armadillo, the eyes were on the side of the head, and it looked great as it was; in addition, as another user stated, armadillos are prey animals with outwards-facing eyes to see predators. With the eyes now on top of the head, though, the armadillo looks strange and derpy.
    • Make the ears slightly smaller. Although having larger ears could make the armadillo look cuter in a way, I believe having them smaller makes more sense, as real-life armadillos have small, slick ears to tuck away when they roll up.
    • Have its head hide when it rolls up. In real life, armadillos will roll up when frightened and, importantly, cover their head. With its head sticking out, it seems like silliness was prioritized much more than the vital characteristics of the armadillo.
    • Strengthen the wolf armor. Despite the wolf armor being as strong as diamond horse armor, a wolf will still die in 1 hit to a creeper. Most voters likely expected the armor to fix issues with their wolves dying, yet it doesn't really achieve that. Perhaps also fix the wolf's AI to help this issue as well.
    • Rename scute to "turtle scute." Armadillos drop "armadillo scute," so turtles should drop "turtle scute" to prevent confusion.
    • Keep armadillos rolled up when hit. Currently, the armadillos run when hit. Since armadillos roll up to protect themselves, it makes sense for them to prevent damage by rolling up instead, kind of like a shulker.

I think pet beds would be smarter than armor. That way dogs aren't over powered for pvp, but you also don't have to worry about them dieing.

I feel as though the implementation of the Wolf Armour, as it is now, is a little bare bones. This is an opportunity to give a lot more depth to wolves, pets that have been in the game since nearly the start, and that shouldn't be squandered. Having different tiers of Wolf Armour depending on what you craft it with (along with the scutes), more ways to customize the armour's aesthetic, and possibly even general updates to the pet AI (such as adding a "wander" mode to tamed pets to allow them to organically wander your base, instead of forcing them to either follow you or sit in the same spot forever) are all features I was really hoping to see with this addition. I voted for the armadillo and wolf armour in hopes that we could see wolves and other pets finally get some more use in this modern age of Minecraft where they've mostly fallen by the wayside, and I still hope we see that. As it is now, they still can't survive one point blank creeper blast, so my wolves are still staying safe at home :(

Have you considered making wolf armor enchantable?

That would make it less underpowered.

After testing armadillos first time today, I have a few thoughts about potential upgrades of the new mob:

    • Eyes should be placed on the sides of the head.
    • When armadillo curles up, the head should not be visible. I know that it may look cute but for me it looks first and foremost strange and unnatural.
    • Armadillo should walk faster, in nature they are quite active animals.
    • Armadillo should not only eat spider's eyes but also hunt for all kind of spiders at night. It would give armadillo more interesting features and couse more possibilities to focus attention of player on armadillo.

I will be happy if my comments will help in creeation of better Minecraft.

So, in regards to the new wolf armor, I can only say that it definitely needs to be dye-able.  No offense, but it looks disgusting as far as color goes.  Brownish Purple does not suit it well.

Anyways, before I vomit over the color of the armor itself, let me just say that in order for our furry pixelated friends to be as fashionable as possible, not only do we need this new wolf armor to be dye-able, but we also need it to be trim-able.  And if your going to add wolf armor trimming, I will say it again, Horse Armor Trimming and Netherite Horse Armor, please?

Anyways, those are just my thoughts, color makes me want to vomit and needs trimming.  Rockatoa, Brickticks out!

P.S.  Please fix the feedback site login.

Ok so, I haver some things to comment about the Wolf and the Armadillo. The wolf armor looks weird in his head, it should have some colors and the armor item needs to be worked on. The armadillo needs a better animation when it gets scared, the head shouldn't be visible when that happens and the eyes looked better when they were on the side of the head. But hey, Im thrilled to see them soon in my world! Keep the good work Mojang!

i think the armadillo is veryyyyyyyy cute! and so wolves withe they new armor! TNX mojang(sorry about screaming right now, armadillo!)

    i don't like a few things:
-when the armadillo is rolling, you can see hes head and feet. and that is weird.
-i feeling the armor protect on the wolf. but that give him very low protection( he can't survivre creeper explosion)
-that is dunm you can ger infinite scutes fron one armadillo. and just by right clicking with a brush, maybe that better if you can get the scute when an armadillo growing up, like a turtel( also drop scute)

    about you q:

    • Was it easy to locate Armadillos?
a bit. but that good if it gonna be common like sheeps and pigs
    • Did you feel like you found enough Armadillo Scutes?
      too much...
    • Does the wolf armor feel like it protects your wolf?
      not realy much
    • Does the wolf armor make you feel like bringing your wolf with you more often?
      yeah

Can the colors be adjusted to make it more like the one seen in Minecraft Live, the dull pink seems very ill-suited for a savanna biome, compared to the dull dark orange version in Minecraft Live.

The wolf armour appears cluttered an looks odd, I would suggest having it look more like you’ve just put a larger shell over the back of the wolf and a smaller one on its head, think turtle shell helmet and how the shell sits over armadillos. This would appear cuter more interesting and original in addition to also fit the theme of where the material for the armour came from.

Wolf armour still isn't enough to convince me to take my dogs outside my base and on adventures with me. A much better idea would be for the armour to protect the dog and when the dog reaches 1 heart, it rests in place and becomes invincible until you feed it, maybe a golden apple etc. That way, dogs can't die and players have reason to take them on adventures without the fear of them dying (looking after one entity is already enough). Lava and the void should be exceptions. This will however make the armour quite OP but that can be countered by maybe adding diamonds or netherite into the recipe!

I think an armadillo should have eyes on its sides, should be a bit bigger, and its head shouldn't stick out when it's hiding. Using a brush to get a scute is a very poor solution.
