Give us the ability to control what ui elements are read by the screen reader and in how much detail.
For example, every time I close an inventory, I am told I am in player view, 1 of 12. I don't need this since I play single player and it gets in the way of other announcements such as chat messages. What I do need is to be told the durability of the item I've switched to or the text in a book. If we can choose for certain things to not be read out then more could be readable without the screen reader trying to talk over itself.
Another example is the sentence structure when there are tabs. "Press the L1 to tab left, press the R1 to tab right" is a more complete sentence than I personally need for button mapping reminders and is irritating in syntax since in my head it should be "the R1 button" or just "R1". Being able to remove the "the" in a verbosity setting for button reminders would allow me to get to the contents of the tab I am in without missing something because the screen reader was too busy telling me the controls to care what I'm actually looking at.
