As a fan of Colony Sim games, I have a few ideas for immigrating new Villagers into an established Player colony:
- The Camel could transport one villager at a time.
More importantly, fixing/overhauling Minecarts so they couple together and can move as a single train would be a PHENOMENAL upgrade.
- Utilize the Bell's range to allow detection of not just how many citizens are within the village, but how many vacant beds are available within a livable area. The bell's range could be increased by linking more bells together [much like how the Allay can be linked to specific note blocks].
Once you reach a specific population and have enough available beds/workstations within range, small groups of two to five migrants appear once every lunar cycle. Larger groups would have a level 2 Villager already trained in a randomized job. The Biome Type cycles, making things more predictable for a player seeking a very specific kind of Villager.
The player would not be required to accept the group upon arrival. They could linger up to 3in-game days before leaving to despawn. Otherwise, the player could offer cooked food and 1 Emerald block for every new Citizen, 2 Emerald Blocks per Trained Citizen.
- Traveling Merchants. You can't tell where they're from by looks.
Upon spawning, their biome type is randomized. A player could look at their wares to determine where they hail from. Cooked food and 3 emerald blocks could convince the Merchant to stay as a Citizen.
