Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

I ran out of characters to add any suggestions for a new system, but feel free to discuss them here in the comments.  My idea was craftable enchants (possibly at an enchantment table) or rare enchantment mob drops, or tool upgrades, but this can be fixed in many ways.

I agree with the points you made and agree that the game needs a major overhaul of enchantment.
But I will give even louder theses to clarify my opinion:
    1. Enchanting is an optional grind part of the game, like potions, building beacons.
    2. Experience farms under spawners - abusive speculation on underdeveloped AI and an unbalanced eternal source of monsters.
    3. The old reroll with the breaking of the pulpit is also a speculation on a flaw.
    4. Old bookshelves should be removed, chiselled bookshelves will replace them.

Anvils are the worst part of all.

Villager enchantments are being changed to make more sense. Hopefully it sticks!

Anvils should have a consistent price :(
