Keep inventory should NOT be a cheat

Imagine that you have a stack of diamonds and you die in lava with no cheats and now all of your hard work is gone

    You are already immortal, having endless rebirths. Have the courage to risk at least items and experience.

    Losing your items and getting back your items by either going back to where you died while surviving or making new items is a part of the game. If you aren't willing to sacrifice the time to do it, if you turn on keep inventory, then you're just skipping an important part of the game. If you didn't get punished for dying by losing items, dying wouldn't be meaningful. By avoiding this meaningful punishment, you're basically cheating.

    In java edition, this is not a cheat, as well as turning phantoms off.

    It's a cheat because the game wouldn't be as much of a challenge otherwise. Having to work to reclaim stuff is part of the authentic experience.

    for the people saying you have to have this is part of the challenge, in a game mode where you have the option of Peaceful with no enemies and not having to eat, i agree with OP that this should also be another option alongside things like the free map and bonus chest, rather than a cheat.

    other games (and even Java) allow you to choose your own death punishment, and it helps make the game more relaxing, which is what some people (including myself, sometimes) are looking for, without being called cheaters.

    as someone who stuff their inventory to the brim, with shulkers, sometimes i just wanna go home after a mining trip and keep all my stuff. if we have peaceful, why not this? it sucks never getting advancements n stuff just bc of this
